The Western Digital My Passport is truly an essential portable hard drive to own!
Western Digital make great portable hard drives and this has definitely been the best yet. 320GB of space for around £65 is a great deal, you get a handy portable hard drive for extra storage or backups and they also throw in the usb cable for free. It does include WD Sync as well but that will only work on PCs (even though this hard drive is suitable for Macs as well)
The hard drive connects over USB 2.0 resulting in high speed data transfers (extremely quick compared to small usb flash drives) and means you don't need an external power supply to use this hard drive.
Unfortunately sometimes the hard drive does get very warm if continually transferring data.
Although I've only had this for 6 months is has faired better than the previous model which suffered from ticking noises and eventually stopped being read by my computer, hopefully this will last longer!
The design of the My Passport is really nice, slim and sleek with rounded edges and a glossy red finish on the top, side and bottom. There's also a small LED in the shape of the USB sign to show you when the hard drive is in use.
Overall this is a brilliant hard drive and is an essential for backups and for extra storage. WD is definitely one of the trusted brands for hard drives so I would highly recommend this product.
