Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio High Definition
by jade1517
I am not going to lie, i did buy these beats solely because they were pink, but friends of mine did have the black ones and they where highly recommended.
The sound quality for the user is incredible especially when you turn them up slightly (you don not need to turn them all the way up as they are really loud). I myself don't ... know much about music but do love to listen to it and the sound quality from my previous ones to these is a great improvement, and cuts out every piece of background noise enabling you to really feel the music. They did advertise that people around you will not hear what you are listening to but that has not been mastered yet. They are a lot quieter for people around you but they can still hear the music.
They are incredibly comfortable, the white padding which engulfs your ears is very soft and offers no discomfort what so ever.
The design itself is good, i love the colour and the contrast with the white means they match everything. The only problem i have is i am a bit of a perfectionist and like to keep everything clean, which is a bit annoying as i keep getting foundation on them, but that is just me. I also feel i am constantly buying batteries for them as i have them on most of the time and they really drain the battery, but its a small price to pay if you want to be able to hear everything the music offers.
I have not dropped or attempted to break these headphones so can not honestly say how durable they are.
I bought these headphones when i noticed they were priced up wrong in a shop so got them at around half the price, so for me they are incredible value for money, but at full price they are a bit pricey for everyday use.
Overall i love my headphones and would recommend them but if you are expecting to be able to play your music loudly without others hearing you will be a little upset. Read the complete review |

Sennheiser HD 429

I spent a long time researching headphones and after listening to these in -store, decided to make the purchase. For the money, they are great value. The brand was recommended in-store and although I am no "audiophile", I consider the sound reproduction to be very good- certainly on-par with more expensive models. They produce ... good sound across the full audible range, and even sound good with classical music, though I don't think they were necessarily designed with this in purpose. They can play at quite a loud volume without distortion (total harmonic distortion <0.1%)
Here are some highlights re their specification
1. High-output neodymium magnets
2. Smooth bass response
3. 3m long single sided cable
4. 18 - 22000 Hz frequency response, which covers almost the full spectrum of human hearing. Check this
against other headphones- many do not extend to the far ends of our hearing hearing so you miss out
on accurate sound representation
5. Optimized for portable audio -mp3's etc
6. Very comfortable padding makes them a joy to wear
7. Standard 6.3mm adaptor plug
They may not have the "wow- factor" in terms of appearance and brand recognition that some of today's "trendy" headphones have, but this should not stop anyone considering them. They are super- comfortable to wear and can therefore be kept on for long periods of time.
As they do not fold up, perhaps not the best for travelling, but this is a small compromise for the quality of sound they produce. I did read a review elsewhere when deciding to buy these that described them as flimsy, but I have not found this to be the case. They appear very well made to me.
In summary, you will not be disappointed if you buy these. You will enjoy crisp clear music on par with much more expensive headphones. They may not be the fashion item that more expensive makes have become, but they are solid and well made. Read the complete review |

JVC HAFX1X Xtreme Xplosives In Ear Canal Headphones
by sjameson
I purchased these headphones to use for my Samsung SII and listen to some tunes. As an avid music lover I wanted some headphones that could stand up to the music- being able to handle bass and beats!
Tech Spec- the details
- Gold plated 3.5mm plug
- noise reduction
- ergonomic and contoured
- ... durable
Price
I purchased these for £15 from Amazon just before 4-5months ago- an absolute bargain! For the sound quality and the build of the ear phones, I really can't believe they are only £15. Buy them for that price alone! Checking on Amazon they are around £12 so cheaper again.
Presentation
The look of the headphones are actually great, they are black earphones with a red wire, the red wire is really thick and the attachments feel sturdy. The earphones seem quite robust and able to handle daily use as I have had them for 4-5mths and use them frequently. The earphones come with a black travel box, so for anybody like me who gets a bit frustrated with the wire getting tangled up, this box can come in handy. It is black, small and very compact.
Sound Quality
The music quality is really good, there isn't much of a static noise on the headphones and they can handle some pretty heavy beats- from hip-hop and rap to rock and heavy metal, the sound doesn't get lost in these headphones.
Comfort
The reason I buy in-ear headphones instead of big and bulky headphones is that I find them uncomfortable over my upper ear piercing. These in-ear headphones remedy this and are reasonably comfortable. However, after maybe an hour it can get tender in my inner ear, maybe my own fault for enjoying my music, for a fraction of the cost, I can overlook this negative!
Also included in the ear-phones are an additional set of silicone ear covers- a nice addition.
Overall
Good quality, good price, BARGAIN! I would definitely recommend and I will buy again for a gift as I actually think they are brilliant quality at an affordable price. I am giving this item 5 stars, as for the price and the quality, it seems that it is a superb buy. Read the complete review |
