... these headphones take some getting used to, they fit snugly into the ear canal (3 different sized earbuds to suit different ears!), this means that a lot of external noise is blocked out. This helpd to improve the quality of the music as well as solving that anti social problem where headphones leak noise...if only they gave them out on buses! Philips SHE9800 ... SHE9800 in-ear-headphone is really the state of the art earphone, I have never imagined before that I will finally find my dreamed of earphone. I use the earphone for my MP3 player (also the best of its kind) and it simply gives me new experience in enjoying music from it. Now I can exercise all the sounds type produced through adjusting the EQ. previously I never bother adjusting the EQ of my player because it simply does not give me distinctingtively different sound, but now, wow I can very clearly perceived the difference of each sound setting. Shure SE210 ... bought a pair of these earphones because I wanted some that didn t rattle around in my ears. I found that the Sony/Sennheiser kind that have a rubber sleeve covering the speaker tend to transmit noise of anything that touches the cables. Whereas, the expanding foam buds of these Shure SE210s provide a sort of sound pillow that stops that kind of irritation. The sound clarity is very good but you do need to play around with the different sizes of foam tips to get the one that suits your ear canals perfectly. When you try it you ll know because whatever you re playing with sound so much clearer. I m not a sound buff (I can t tell the difference between a CD and vinyl!)... Sennheiser HD212 ... I got more interested and serious about mixing music, I decided that I needed a better set of headphones that I could for both mixing and for general, everyday use. I didn t want to spend hundreds on a set of monitoring headphones, so i shopped around a bit and decided to purchase a pair of HD212 s. After trying them out in store, i was really impressed by them. They were perfect for me for many reasons. They weren t overly expensive - so I could use them for personal, without being scared stiff of damaging them. The build quality seems to be top class.
