AKG K 142 HD

These are a pair of reasonably priced AKG headphones at £85. The design is something good to look at, and as AKG is the manufacturer, you can expect good sound quality. Sound Quality: As with all speakers, I tested them over five tracks of varying audio: classical, spoken word, pop, metal and electronic- these provide a good range of pitch types and dynamic changes. These headphones really pleased me. The bass truly drove through in a beautiful way on the classical track, a fitting description would be 'music to my ears', but that seems a bit obvious. Like its big brother version, these headphones come from the AKG K 142HD- a large studio tradition. This semi-encloses the ears of listeners, rather comfortable in that is rests nicely on the ears. The sound is direct, the focus is less on the whole range of sounds, and, more impressively, the driving bass and smooth, harmonious sounds. Acoustic guitars especially get through to the listener give a true sense of actually being there. Ergonomics: The K142 HD takes the same path, too.
