If you are handling monitored, high quality audio in a high-noise environment you'll need a pair of closed-back headphones. This is particularly true when recording drums to a click track or DJing at a club. These headphones were designed with DJs to ensure they are perfect for the job.
I don't own a pair of these but I have used them in Uni so my opinion comes from a user and therefore don't know of some of the long term troubles or un-reliability I would assume doesn't exist in this £150 pair of cans. One of the reasons I assume these headphones will never break is the rugged plastic coating which is easily tough enough to allow some harsh environments. Give them a throw around while you have the warranty, I doubt they'd even flinch.
The product really grips your head, as part of the soundproof adaption but are really really comfortable. Loads of padding everywhere it is needed, you can keep them on for sometime with no head aggravation. They fold completely flat, which saves you a couple of inches in your storage for them for some drum sticks or an apple.
Mini XLR with stereo mini jack and screw on 1/4 inch jack adapter which makes everything hard to lose. It's also pretty cool because that is usually what breaks so now you can just buy a new component if it ever does.
These headphones have great isolation and the opportunity to force a lot of bass into your ears. There is even a bass boost switch. Not the best quality headphones out there but that isn't what you are paying for and still really good. Also, it's AKG who are just renound for being high quality, high performance products. This doesn't disappoint.

The result: the ultimate tool for professional DJs - high performance closed-back headphones with the best possible sound, and maximum SPL that should be exceptionally rugged and easy to bend or fold into any listening position, and provide a switchable bass boost.
