Advantages: 1 meter cable
Disadvantages: where to begin, lets say everything
A friend of mine bought himself a pair of these headphones and after having them for only a few days he wanted to get rid of them due to the fact that he didn't like the in-ear feel of these headphones, also adding that nothing should go that far into your ear.
Me being a guy who owns 2 headphones that are the in-ear style I took them off his hands (he said he never paid much for them so he just gave them to me). After trying them for a couple of days (to really give them a chance) I ended up throwing them in the bin just like he was going too. I have reviewed 2 in-ear headphones previous to this one and out of the three these have to be the worst I have ever worn.
Looking at them, the brand was AKG, didn't really know them, I had heard the name before but I never really knew them.
The design looked exactly the same as any other in-ear headphone design, the head being a blue and silver in colour with a translucent ear bud and with a grey cable measuring at about 1 meter (100cm). Good length.
As soon as I put them in my ears all became very clear where the problems lay.
As I pushed them in to the desired comfort level it felt like I was pushing in a blunt knife, the material may feel like its of good quality with your hands but in the ear it just felt a hundred times worse. Nevertheless I wanted to leave them in and see if it was a type of material that you had to leave in for a while so that maybe they mould to your ear, but that was a futile attempt as it felt like the blunt knife was getting sharper over the two days.
As for the sound is was moderately nice, if you were just listening to music, it was ok, if you are listening to classical, jazz, blues or any kind of calmer music it sounded good, but once you got to the heavier sounds it started to very slightly distort (very slightly, but noticeable to me because I had gotten use to my Bose versions of the in-ear headphones) but if you had any voices singing then forget about it, these headphones are very bass strong, so whatever music you are listening to it brings the bass right out which in effect pushes vocals back and gives the voice a peculiar sound.
Also included with these headphones you do get a little pouch that you keep them in and they provide in the packaging extra silicon heads of slightly different sizes.
You can get these in-ear headphones from Amazon for £19.99
But I do believe that these headphones use to be a lot more expensive (like three times the price they are now), but as you can see they have dropped considerably and too right.
Final Thoughts
As you can probably tell I do not like these headphones, even if I was broke and none of my own in-ear headphones were working I would rather go without headphones than purchase the AKG in-ear headphones, but that's just my opinion, but then again I have been spoiled with my Bose versions.
Summary: Not of a good quality in material or sound and should be avoided
