Advantages: Look great

Disadvantages: Sound good but not great

These simple looking headphones by the huge name of Apple are a nice alternative to the standard headphones that I got with all of my Apple products. I do prefer these to the standard model that rest in the nook of the ear as THEY don't block out any exterior noise. These on the other hand do help block out some of the exterior noise yet they are not officially noise cancelling earphones and don't feature any form of noise cancelling technology. These soft topped headphones must actually be gently inserted into the opening of the ear and pushed slightly into the ear canal. These creates a seal that keeps the music inside and the noise outside. I always find it rude when someone is listening to their music source on the bus or any other form of public transport and you can either hear every word of their overly loud music or a distorted version constantly by your side. That irritating noise is the result of badly fitting earphones, the music being too loud, cheap ear or headphones or all three.

These little bud style earphones on the other hand if the music is played at a reasonable level will not interfere with your fellow travellers. And seeing that there is a good seal and the music is closer to the eardrum you will not need to have it as loud as you would if using ear up style Earphones.

The part that enters the ear is lovely and soft as I have never experienced nor suffered from ear irritation of any kind. The product as a whole has that very distinctive and very sought after Apple look. Just having the White lead trailing in to your jacket will let people know you are using an Apple device of some kind. These little guys will work in a standard iPod, iPod Touch, iPod shuffle, iPhone and even all three iPads. That's something I found strange when I received my iPad there are no earphones whatsoever included with it, so pick up these if you are thinking of getting one.

Stylish looks and fashion trends aside, sound is of course THE most important thing when it comes to earphones. Well let me put it this way, they won't rock your world. These are small in size but not in sound. They can pack quite a punch if you turn the volume up high enough (which I do not recommend) but that said they can't compare to high end ear cup style headphones. However they do a great job at making my music sound crisp, clear and sharp. These are not going to distort your music. Base is good, not great but it is plenty for a sound source that is going to be so close to your eardrum. Another thing that works in their favour compared to big, chunky headphones is of course the fact of how easily transportable they are. These will roll up in to a tiny ball when they are no longer required as the lead is soft and pliable.

These really are a decent set of headphones I wouldn't use these to listen to my hi-fi for example but for music on the go I think they do a fine job.
