I adore listening to music, so a great set of headphones is extremely important to me. I purchased an 80GB iPod Classic earlier on this year and these 'Apple iPod Earphones' were part of the package. All new iPods are sold complete with these earphones. Otherwise they currently retail for £19.00 on store.apple.com/uk-store.

The earphones look very stylish and compliment the sleek look of the iPod Classic. They are an updated version of Apple's earlier iPod earphones, and they are certainly better than the older ones. They look great and show you own an iPod, making you look right on trend. Whether this is a good thing or not is arguable. Some people, mainly youngsters, will say it's great to be recognised as an iPod owner and they love showing off that they own this trendy gadget. However there is a downside to this; wearing the trendy earphones could make you a huge target for theft. Many people are quick to recognise these as iPod headphones, so even if you make certain to hide your iPod from peering eyes, you could still become a victim of a nasty robbery.

The sound quality is quite good but for £19.00 I would demand better. Because they came with my iPod I am happy with using them as they work fine. I don't wan't to part with more money unnecessarily so I will continue to use these as long as they continue to work. However, if you need to purchase some earphones, regardless of whether you own an iPod or any other portable music player, I wouldn't recommend that you buy Apple iPod Earphones. You can buy similar earphones for less than half the price, some which have even better sound quality.

I have only had mine for 2 months but I have used them a lot in this time. They are still in great condition so I can't fault the quality.
