Advantages: ummm... come back to me
Disadvantages: Low Sound and Build quality
Picking up my new Ipod, i wasn't expecting top of the range earphones, why would I , Apple have obviously packaged these low quality earphones in the hopes we would purchase new ones. The Apple iPod Earphones come standard with every iPod so there is no escaping the minimal performance, but please read on to see why.
SOUND
The peformance of these earphones are basic to say the least. Don't purchase these expecting to have a clear, rich bass as you will be disappointed and for those who love to have the volume up loud (myself included), surprisingly the volume limit is pitiful.
Build Quality
I have used my iPod earphones for three months now and i have to say I can hardly recognise them. I don't consider myself especially rough with them, so I can't explain how the lead has already torn. This has lead to a severe decrease in quality in the right earphone and to add that all up the rubber lining around the earphone has fallen off. So from experience don't be expecting these to last you long as for me the build quality is its greatest downfall.
Ease of Use
The Apple iPod Earphones are built so that they will fit a variety of sizes of ears but as with other earphones will occasionaly fall out with sharp movements. These will not stop everyone around you from listening in to your music, which can be an annoyance for others if the volume is loud.
Overall
I personally cannot recommend these earphones but that is of no use as anyone who purchases an iPod will be treated to the sub-standard sound and build quality. So my only advise would be to ditch these and invest in decent earphones.
Summary: Use them only as a last resort

- 02/07/09 Have to agree completely, mine only lasted around 2-3 weeks when I got my iPod. For Apple to charge £20+ for these is ridiculous, they're worth probably £5. |

- 01/07/09 They're dreadful. I don't know how Apple has the nerve to actually charge for them! :( |
