The apple ipod earphones provide for me quite a mixed bag.
One on hand, they look great, and people can quickly tell you own and are using one of the best personal music systems around the - iPod. They provide decent quality sound, however many products, in particular from near rivals Sony provide a better quality of sound for a similar, and often lower price. IN saying this, the quality providing by apple is not something many people would feel the need to better.
The main disadvantage lies in their reliability and robustness. I have owned my latest Ipod for a year now, and am already onto my third set of headphones. I don't use them reckless or drop them, usual wear and tear gets them. Issues such as the lids falling off, or crackling from within, or no sound altogether, have eventually turned me away from apple headphones. Another minor issue is the fact that they very easily pick up dirt and look very used and old when in fact they are not.
