Advantages: Stylish Design
Disadvantages: Very poor sound quality
The Apple headphones boast a stylish sleek design, which looks very attractive, and the great thing is that when people see your headphones, they know your not listening to a tape player, you've got the real thing; an iPod.
They are also nice to fit into your pocket, with no stupid dangly bits. The are simple yet modern, a design which I love.
However, the headphones of a prime example that a book shouldn't be judged by it's cover. The sound quality is rather poor, even at three quarter volume, and at full volume the sound is fuzzy almost to the stage where lyrics are unrecognisable.
The poor sound quality is topped off by the fact the the headphones break extremely easilly, with a simple drop being enough to make the thing fall apart, I personally have been through at least 4 pairs. So, why do I keep buying new pairs? Well, as I mentioned earlier, it's to show that I have an Apple iPod, not some daft walkman.
Despite the fact that I dislike the headphones themselves, I will continue to buy them as I personally feel they are a fashion statement. But, if you do not feel this way, for the same price, you can get a pair of headphones far superior to the Apple ones.
Summary: You can do better for the same price.

- 22/07/09 There's no way I would pay Apple money for these - fashion statement or not. They are absolutely awful and it's only because some people hold the mistaken belief that an iPod is superior to any other mp3 player that they can get away with it. They are a complete victory of style over substance. |
