Advantages: Longevity

So nearly everyone I imagine has heard of a iPod and most likely seen one and so have seen the headphones that come with them. When I first saw them many years a go I was overjoyed!
In the past when walkman's were all the rage I had to suffer with the cushioned headphones that had the strap that went over your head. Safe to say I hated them as the strap never fitted my head! No such trouble though with these headphones!
With this design the earpiece fits comfortably into your ear. My ears are quite small so they fit snuggly but I imagine they work just as well with folks who might have slightly larger ears.
The headphones also provide good sound quality. It is what I would describe as dual sound though, meaning you get different sound in each earpiece so you need to wear them together so that you get the full effect needed to enjoy the sound you're listening too.
I found that these headphones have good longevity to them. I did have to replace them after a couple years of use and I would be wary of buying cheaper versions as they don't work so well and break easily.
One problem I did find was that the part at the end of the headphone that you insert into your iPod/iPhone/PC/Mac can get damaged if it's overused, I've had this break on me before and when this starts to get damaged it ultimately lowers the quality of sound that you hear.
A great feature of the headphones though is that if you buy them separately from your iPod if they need replacing, you can get some in a variety of different colours. There's a coloured strip round the earpiece, in the photo it's shows in grey but with some brands you can get it in a range of popular colours which adds a nice bit of personality to your iPod.
These headphones come in a range of prices from a range of different shops. The lowest price I've seen is around 10 pounds but as mentioned the cheaper versions just don't last as long so you're probably better off spending a few more pennies to get a longer life guarantee.
I have found my headphones to be invaluable though and I will always purchase this type of brand as I've found them the most comfortable. Now some of the headphones come with the option to adjust the volume on your iPod by using a little button switch that they've placed on the wire part of the headphone. I find this extremely helpful as it saves time, especially if you're using an iPod on a iPhone and it's a nice touch.
All in all, these are the modern up-to-date version of an old design, but these are more comfortable than a lot of other versions that are out there and well worth your money if you want something that's light weight and easy to carry around. Another bonus is that they'll work on other devices as well so you're not limited to what you can use.
They can be bought at shops such as Argos, Amazon and other major retailers as well as high street electrical shops and are well worth your money.
Summary: Great headphones that are very stylish.
