Apple earphones/earbuds

I bought the new 4th gen iPod touch 32gb about a week ago, to replace my 3rd gen 8gb iPod touch and with it I also received a new set of apple earphones.

*About the product*
They have the same apple design, which is simple, sleek and..white. Why are most apple products white? Some of the new earphone designs have a microphone and a remote on the side, but these are just the good oldies.

*My opinion of the product*

-Appearance

They look like all general apple products, they are simple, sleek, white and they work rather well. They are white and grey, although I think they could have made them look a bit less boring, as white and grey are not the most exciting colours (unlike the gumy earphones which come in quite a few colours).

-Now for the ergonomics bit

One of the main features of this product that I like the most is that they fit well in my ear. I think most of us have gone through the pain of having too big or too small earphones and are forced to listen to your music with your hands over your ears?...No, just me then.

Due to the comfortable fit and feel of the earphones, it does not make listening to music, or other forms of media uncomfortable. They are soft and round so they don't rub too.

The only thing that I don't like about these earphones (apart from the price) is that the part where the cable and the headphone jack meet can break and separate easily. I have had this happen a few times with apple earphones, when after about 6/7 months the plastic at the end of the cable/wire part seems to break away from the headphone jack - exposing the wires inside, which is not good, but other than that they are quite good.

-Sound quality

Along with the pain of uncomfortable earphones the other main flaw some earphones have is that they are really 'tinny' or 'echoey', which can make miley cyrus sound really bad...
This product does not sound echoey at all, the sound quality is really good. The sound is quite crisp and clear which is great as that is what earphones are for. They do let in background noise, although I kind of like that flaw sometimes, as then I can keep up with what is going on in the real world.

-Price and availability

I received this product with my new iPod touch, although you can buy them individually. The apple plain earphones (without a mic or remote) can be purchased from ebay.co.uk for £5 or less, this may be due to the fact that newer earphones have been brought out or that they are not really apple. Buth there are some new types on the market the ones with a mic and remote are priced at about £25, which is what this product was originally priced at, which is quite expensive for earphones.
