Apple iPod Earphones
Advantages: Fit in my ear, good sound quality
Like most people in this country I own an iPod, well, I have owned various iPod's over the years thanks to upgrades (my husband gets the upgrade and I get his old hand me down, but still I can't complain) and in order to listen to the music I have a pair of apple iPod earphones. These earphones have definitely come a long way since the ones that you wore as a head band over your head with two big pads covering each ear. They never really fit properly so sound quality was not great and they always feel off your head.
These apple earphones have a nice sleek look to them and are very in keeping with the apple look, coloured white with a white wire and a grey ring around the part that you put in your ear. I like the way these earphones fit into my ear. They slot into the eardrum and then you just need to move them slightly to sort of wedge them in there so they don't move. They are pretty secure although if you move your head too much I find they sometimes fall out although overall I can achieve a nice snug fit.
The microphone portion then is right into the ear and so you get a really nice sound quality from these earphones. I used mine in the past to travel into London on the train and the tube and I have to say that they were really good in that type of situation. They blocked most of the noise around me and I could hear the songs that I wanted to listen to without the surrounding noise spoiling the songs for me.
I have the Apple earphones with the volume control on them and I find this a really handy feature. I like to keep my iPod in my bag or pocket when I am listening to it, especially in a train or tube situation as call me cautious but you never know when someone might swipe it right from your lap. However, when it is in my bag it was always a hassle having to go back in if I wanted to change track or up the volume etc. With the little + and - buttons half way down the wires it makes it really easy to just quickly change the volume as its positioned in a really good place. There is a button in the middle that then lets you play and pause, another good feature or go to the next track that you want to listen to.
The earphones plug into the top of your iPod with a little metal connection and I find this is a really tight fit and never comes apart unless you give it a really good tug. In the past with old earphones I always remember this coming out of my walkman and making the sound go all crackly but this never happens with these earphones. The nice thing is that these earphones are also compatible with iPhones and all other apple products so you can use them on all the machines that you have. When not in use these earphones roll up very small and are easy to just pop in your bag and go. When I bought mine they came with a little case which keeps them nice and protected. The headphones cost £26 and are a good small, travel size headphone for your Apple products.
