I got my pair of iPod earphones when I purchased my iPod Touch 4 earlier and frankly, i was quite disappointed with it. Not that it was not good, but it was simply not as good as one would expect for an Apple product. I was quite impressed by the quality of iPod touch 4 but was disappointed with the earphones that come with it.

The outlook and the package
As with all apple products, the main colour of the iPod earphones is white. It has a little touch of gray colour. I am quite happy with the quality of the white rubber because they will not go yellow-ish easily, like some cheaper products do.

The earphones, together with the iPod Touch, comes in a small clear plastic box. The box is made of thick plastic and is of good quality. It means that you can easily use the box for other purposes. I myself used it to store my accessories (e.g. bracelets, earrings). You can easily use for whatever purpose you want!

The diameter of the earphone bud is actually quite large. As I said in the other review, my outer ear is quite small and the earphone with big ear buds will fall out easily. Even if I manage to hold the ear bud in place, I will feel quite painful after listening for some time. It is the main reason that I have to purchase another set of earphones to replace this set!

The sound quality
Coming to the most important part of an earphones, the sound quality, I was also quite disappointed. It was not that it was not good, but it simply was not great. The bass is weak and the sound in general, is very "thin" and lack texture. As one of the main uses of an iPod is to listen to music, I was expecting something more from apple. Putting it in a more concrete way, if you are using your iPod phone just to listen to some pop songs on the road, then it would be fine. However, if you are using it to enjoy some good music at home, you better get another set of earphones.

As explained above, I got another set of earphones because of my small outer ears. Despite that reason, I would recommend getting another set of earphones if you really want to enjoy some good music from your iPod.
