Apple iPod Earphones
Advantages: free with ipod
Disadvantages: not a nice fit in my ear
I have had a fair amount of these Apple iPod headphones because they come when you purchase and iPod and I have had 4 new iPod's in the last couple of years that I can remember. I think they are decent headphones but they are not the best.
These headphones are in ear headphones and for me didn't really fit comfortably in my ears. The head of the headphones is quite big and very round so when I insert them into my ears they do tend to fall out or not fit in comfortably. The way they are shaped I doubt unless you have a really big ear these probably won't fit comfortably.
---------- Headphones Quality--------------
I had these headphones a couple times and each time they lasted about 6 months. I generally think that is a decent period of time because headphones for me are something that don't really last. What I found is that every time they broke it was the end the plugs into my iPod was the part pull away and wires would start to show leading them to break. My theory is that because I always pugs them in and out the rubbery material used to cover the wires is not strong enough leading it to wear and tear over time.
The colour of the headphones are white and I find that they seem to just cling to dirt and I was having to clean them every now and then because they start turnings a light browny colour. I think this is mainly to do with me leaving my headphones anywhere also.
The wire for the headphones are a perfect length for me because I hate long wire on headphones. The wire is a tad shorter than your average set of headphones but I like it because my iPod is always in my jacket pocket which is above my waist and don't like when it gets all tangled with my lanyard around my neck I sometimes wear. The headphone wire length is 1m as opposed to most headphones being 1.2m.
The overall look of the headphones is pretty average and even though they are apple there is nothing distinct about them really.
The sound quality is OK if your just a casual listener to music but if you someone like me that likes bass and loud sound then these headphones are not really for you. I noticed that when I first started using the headphones they were loud and as time went on they went quieter and quieter till a point were full blast on my iPod was what used to be three quarter of the way up.
Because of the way they fit in my ears (not so good) I do pick up outside sound unless my music is on full blast and even then I do sometimes get outside distractions. One place that I find it difficult to hear my music with these headphones is at the back of the bus downstairs because of the fans or engine or whatever that loud noise is.
I think in terms of what the music itself sounds like it's OK with these headphones because it's not grainy or radio like it's just decent a way I could describe it as listening to a CD in other words clear and smooth.
I think these are OK but nothing special and the only reason I even had them so many times is because they came with all the iPods I have had. These headphones are currently on sale in Argos for £20 but I say they aren't really worth buying unless you have an iPod which you got them. I recently purchased the iPod Touch 5 and apple have included a different style of headphones which are much better than these so I think apple have also clicked on that a new set of headphones from them was in call for.
Summary: decent but not great headphones
