These Babushka Russian doll ear buds are a great way to accessorize yourself and are extremely cute and adorable. They come with two different sized silicone buds that are suitable for both adults and children (over the age of six) alike and would make a great gift and can be bought for around £10.
These ear buds are compatible with and any device that has 3.5 mm headphone socket such as an iPhone, any other mobile phone, an mp3 player, portable gaming simulators, PDAs and laptops or computer. It also has quite a long cord.
As cute and cheap as they are, they do not really seem to last that long, maybe around a few months or so, and as they only come with two different silicon buds, the sizing situation is not great and do not sit very well for some people. One of my friends said that when she wore them for too long it made her ears feel raw and sore. The noise output is extremely loud, even on the lowest setting, as well as this the noise isolation is not that great so I personally suggest you do not play music too loud in public but they would be great for road trips.
I guess one of the most important features for headphones is the sound quality, which I have to admit, is pretty great, especially when it comes to the treble and bass and the music sounds clear and not even a little bit fuzzy or static.
I was given these as a gift for Christmas from my little brother who was only 9 at the time. He proudly told me that he paid £10 for them from his own money, which for a little kid is quite a lot, but when compared to other headphones very cheap.
Yes these are a novelty set of headphones, however I expected them to look a little less cheap than they do. They have an extremely rubbery look to them, which is rather disappointing and have actually arrived marked and dirty, even though they are still in the plastic packaging. Still a novelty set of headphones which do the job, but don't look quite as smart as they seem.
I wouldn't recommend these earphones, they are, to be fair, absolutely adorable despite arriving not quite pristine and very enduring. I tend to forget that I have them in because they are quite comfortable and I can't feel them when they are in and yank them out of the laptop and be a bit over violent with them but they still work and I've had them for a couple of months, so extremely good quality for the price. While I don't really know anything about sound quality (this isn't a review about how bass-y they are) they do the job as far as I am concerned, which is of course what they were bought for. In all honesty, they are nice and loud, though could do with a volume control for this reason.
I got this earphones as a gift from my little cousin for my birthday. She said me proudly that she paid £8 for that. Well, a lot for a kid, but cheap when I compare it to other earphones. My family comes originally from a middle European country which was in past occupied by the Russians. Well so the design of a Russian Babushka is nothing which I would particularly seek out. But to my cousins credit I must say that the earphones look actually quite cute. I was wearing them once to test them and show to my cousin that I use them.
The quality of the sound is very poor and there is no volume control, so listening to your favourite music is not so pleasant. They are as well quite uncomfortable in ears and after a while my ears started hurting.
I do not like the design at all, the sound quality is poor as well. However my partner found them quite cute and she started using them. She had the same problem with the uncomfortable pressure they cause. She was using them for about two months when the right ear bud stopped working completely. Next issue with this earphones is that it fits not so easily in the jack.
I am sadly to say but my little cousin wasted her pocket money on a very bad product. I would definitely not recommend these earphones due to their poor quality. However they are original and someone may like the design.
WHAT ARE THEY?
These are earphones that have got a Russian doll decoration on them. They are designed so that you can see the Russian doll even when you have got the earphones pushed into your ears.
WHY DID I BUY THEM?
I am Italian and spent alot of last summer at home in Italy, these earphones was very popular there then buy I have not seen them for sale in any shops in England. Amazon sell them and they cost £8 but I paid only 2 euros for my set so I think the cost is very high here. I bought them because I thought the design was very attractive and I wanted some new earphones at that time.
WHAT I THINK
I like these earphones very much and they have worked for nearly one year now so for cheap earphones I think that is very good. My music comes through both earphone pieces clear and even if I have it turned up to be quite loud there is no buzzing.
The cord is long and the earphones are very comfortable when they are in my ears. There is no button to change the volume on the cord but I do not care about that because I do not use that function very often on my other earphones.
The Russian Doll part of the earphones is very pretty and I am happy with how they look in my ears, the doll is a little bit bigger than most earphones but that does not make them feel heavy or uncomfortable.
I am happy I bought them because they are an attractive pair of earphones but my daughter would like a pair now and I will not pay the price in England for them so she will have to wait until I got to visit my mother in Italy again.

For one reason or another I am always attracted to Russian Doll designs on products. I have some lovely Russian Doll Wooden Santa Clauses for Christmas, I have a gorgeous Russian Doll sewing kit and when I saw these Babushka Ear Buds on a shopping wish list blog - I knew I had to have them. I bought them from Amazon for £10 including postage and they arrived 2 days later, well packaged and in a sealed plastic, prettily decorated box.
As well as the ear buds you receive two sets of soft silicone tips - the standard size for adults and the smaller size for children. Personally for me, I needed to use the smaller size (despite being a fully grown adult!), but I have pretty small ears! The wire is long enough to put your mp3 device in your pocket and have the ear buds in your ears with plenty spare; about the same length as Apple Earphones, the wire is also the same colour creamy white.
The ear buds fit any mp3 device, including all Apple products - they fit a standard 3.5mm headphone socket; I've tried other non Apple branded headphones in my iPod and they have given poor sound quality - echoing or feedback. These ear buds didn't, the sound quality is perfect through them and because of the silicone tips, it cancels out background noise too which is something that Apple earphones do not do.
The main thing that attracted me though to these ear buds was the design. They have a tiny intricately detailed Babushka Russian Doll on each ear bud. Each doll has a red body with pink rosy cheeks, little pink and red flowers and cute cupids bow lips. They are around ¾ inch tall and ¼ inch wide. When you have them in your ears they are very noticeable! They are really solid and durable too; there's no danger of them breaking if you shove them in your handbag to roll around like I do!
I think these are very much like marmite. You either love them or hate them. I got them to jazz up my iPod and make it a little different from the 'norm'; it was an attempt to customise it I guess! I love them for their appearance and sound quality, also the value for money. But I have had mixed feedback - some people absolutely hate them!
If you decide to customise your iPod with some ear buds you can buy them from Amazon from DCI electronics. As well as the Russian dolls / Babushka you can also get different designs - thanks for reading!
