Advantages: Comfortable, heavy duty
Disadvantages: Poor music quality
These headphones have been the industry standard for the past decade, and continue to stay on top of other manufacturers.
Their simple, yet incredibly effective design is what really sets them from others. At a first glance, these headphones may seem like they are either useless pieces of plastic, or a kids toy. It is not until you pick them up, you fee the quality of the product. They do have some weight to them, which is a real sign of the quality inside.
The earphones themselves are very large, accounting for all sizes of ear, and are well padded, meaning they can be worn for hours on end without tiring your ears. The earphones are also fully adjustable, accommodating all head sizes as well.
The product comes in two seperate pieces, the headphones themselves, and the connecting cable. I assume that the cable can be detached for storage and transportation. The cable is attached to one side of the headphones, and can be secured with a small screw. The cable can be connected to an audio source via a 1/4" jack connector.
The sound produced by these headphones isn't your usual hi-fi quality sound. These headphones are designed to strip a song of all its effects and compression, and give you an incredibly accurate representation of individual instruments, and allows you to hear every detail of vocals. This is so you can hear any errors from the musician or vocalist during the recording of a song, which is something these headphones do very well.
I have had this pair for five years and they have yet to put a foot wrong.
Overall, these headphones really do their job well. If you are looking for a pair of headphones for music, have a look at a pair of Sennheiser headphones I have recently reviewed. But if you are recording any type of music, these headphones are a must have.
