... studio work not listening. In conclusion if you are recording your own music in any sort of serious way then these headphones won't let you down. They don't sound amazing and aren't particularly comfortable to wear, but there's a reason why virtually every studio uses them, and my pair are still going strong when other brands have broken either through accident or long-term use. There may be better or cheaper headphones out there but you know what you are getting every time with Beyerdynamic DT100s....more

These headphones have become somewhat of the industry standard for recording studios. Their great advantage - as well as the closed back design which minimises bleed into the microphone when overdubbing - is that everything on them is repalacable. Soundwise they are not particularly fantastic, so if you are an audiophile looking for a pair of headphones to listen to music on then these are probably not the headphones for you. The detachable cable to the headphone has saved my pair on a number of occasions when the cable was stepped on.
