I picked these headphones up a while back now, before buying these I had always pretty much bought much cheaper headphones. Because I had never paid for some good headphones before, they had never lasted me, so I decided that this time, I was going to splash out a little, because it is true, you get what you pay for in life. I do always have to have a pair of headphones handy, mostly because we have very thin walls in our house, and not wanting to disturb next door or my children once they are in bed, I have to have a pair of headphones. When buying these Bose TriPort Headphones, I was after a couple of things, I needed them to be practical, with good sound and performance, comfortable and it never hurts if they look good to. And I thought these Bose Triport headphones looked really great, they are not to big and chunky, and are around the ear headphones, which make them much more comfortable when wearing, and make it impossible for them to slip off whilst wearing them. When these headphones are placed on the ear, your ear is comforted by leather material, and the head strap is also nice to wear as it has leather wrapped around it as well. At just 142 grams, these headphones are extremely light weight and easy to wear, and I can honestly say, that after I have been wearing them for a while, I can hardly even remember that I have got them on. Details and tones are picked up easily with these headphones, and the Triport acoustic headphone structure, helps them to produce a wonderful and equal sound, making these headphones perform brilliantly. The 3.5mm jack that these headphones use, make them available to use on most thing''s, such as laptops, tablets and mp3 players. Another great thing about these headphones is the cable wire, at 1.27m it is more than long enough, and gives you the freedom to move whilst watching television or listening to music. These are one set of headphones which I have been completely happy with buying, unlike the cheaper one''s I have bought in the past, these are much more comfortable for my ears, and much more secure, so I never have to worry about them falling off. Not only are they comfortable and secure, but also have a great performance at the same time, making my experience when using them great, also they keep out other sounds really well, it is like being locked in your own world when using them. These headphones can be bought on the high street or online, they are available at Amazon.co.uk.
after having my bose in ear headphones for a year i knew that i wanted to get some on ear ones for travelling and bose was top of the list. I knew bose made quality products and these are exactly that. They are extremely comfortable due to the leather padding around the headphone. One problem i did have however was the after a year or two the leather was coming away from the headphone, revealing the padding underneath, this was mainly due to me using them so much! recently they completely broke for reasons unknown to me and it was a sad day. I would strongly recommend them as the quality and range of the product is fantastic. Its able to play all types of music with clarity, even dubstep. The only other problem i could forsee is the cable not being long enough but they have covered that with a free extension that plugs on to the jack extending the range to ~2metres
I bought these headphones at Luton airport shortly before boarding my plane for a family holiday to Portugal. With a price tag of about £89 I thought they were a bargain for the brand and I was proven right on the plane! With most 'noise cancelling' over ear headphones costing a lot more, I was certainly surprised by how much external noise these blocked out. It's also worth noting the emphatic bass they have and the supreme detail to the sound, nothing like I have heard in headphones at this price. I could hear every note from my iPhone perfectly with no disturbance, and that is saying something when you have plane engines around you and a screaming toddler sitting next to you! So sound quality and noise cancelling.....spot on!!!
Referring to the style, they are a good looking pair but in my personal opinion there are better looking ones for a bit extra money, and being the style obsessed person I am, I somehow regret not saving my money for a pair of slightly more expensive Bose pair. I would even have saved for the Beats by Dr Dre as I think they are the best looking and most stylish around and if you hunt around the internet you can get them for much less than their usual overly expensive retail price of over £200. Nevertheless, these Bose are still top notch with the chrome ears, leather inners and Bose logo. In terms of comfortability, they rest perfectly on your ears and are very comfortable all the way round your head, particularly with the adjustment mechanism and you can rest assured they won't fall off! They come in a nice carry case and are very lightweight for transport ease, adding to the impressive styling.
My only concern about these headphones, and the reason I actually don't wear them very often any more is the noise leakage. I am a typical student who likes to listen to my drum and bass nice and loud but I immediately get odd stares from people surrounding me when I do as they can also hear it blaring out from my ears!!! It is really frustrating as this is the only problem.
Overall, great sound for YOU! Not so much for people around you. But still great looking and very good value for money.
The top of my birthday list this year was a pair of new headphones. I knew I wanted some over ear ones with good sound and noise reduction features and tested a fair few pairs out before seeing these Bose around-ear headphone models and immediately taking a liking to them.
Headphones these days are often all about the look rather than the sound and performance; I wanted both, which is often quite difficult. These immediately grabbed my attention because of their size; I did not want huge beefy headphones that looked like I had just walked out of a studio ridiculous for everyday wear. These Bose Triport around ear headphones are a nice looking piece of kit. The over-ear headphone pieces are matt silver coloured tough plastic, with a black centrepiece and the Bose branding on either side. The over ear pieces are a lovely soft, cushioned leather material that seems to mould to your ear shape.
The head strap is a thin black band which has cushioned material around for comfort purposes. The head strap is adjustable which you do by sliding the strap piece into place allowing up to 7.6 cm of adjustment. The headphones are very lightweight (142 grams) and comfortable to wear.
These Bose headphones use exclusive TriPort acoustic headphone structure which produces tonally-balanced sound, including low notes. The acoustic equalisation fine-tunes the frequency response of the headphones for exceptional audio performance. There is no need for an additional bass boost option/function that some audio players have as the Bose technology allows for intricate detail and deep tones to be picked up easily.
The headphones use a 3.5mm jack that allows for compatibility with most audio equipment (MP3, laptop, amp etc.). The headphones cable is a more than generous 1.27m length. The headphones also come with a nice silky drawstring carry bag to transport and protect your headphones.
Sound & Opinions
To put it simply, these headphones are amazing and I am really pleased with them. Comfort wise they fit round my head snugly and securely, I use these at the gym and have no worries about them falling off or being nuisance during wear. The leather over-ear pieces totally cover my ears and are extremely comfy, the ear pieces also swivel slightly for a more comfortable fit. They let little outside noise in whatsoever so you are able to really feel the music and beats. This is a great feature of these headphones, considering Bose sell very expensive noise cancelling sets; these in my opinion do keep external noises out very well.
The sound performance is fab, compared to what I have used before the difference and quality of sound from these is incredible and extremely noticeable. The clarity of the music is really good and as stated in the spec it really picks up the bass sounds and individual instruments that that tend to be in the music I listen to. I tried lots of different headphone sets and brands and as soon as I put these on I knew straightaway they were the best I had tested. Not only so you get great sound, which is the most important feature when buying headphones, but you also get quality and style with these.
I am extremely happy with these Bose portable headphones; they are available on the high street in shops such as HMV and also online on sites such as Amazon and retail for about £89.
I received these Bose headphones a couple of Christmases ago, and as soon as I begun to use them I was extremely impressed with the quality of the sound. Compared to lower priced headphones, the crisp, clear sound is of a very high quality, and the over ear style ensures a surround sound experience. The headphones have a very deep, emphatic bass which is often lost with many headphones and combined with the clear midtones and mellow but crisp sounds, these headphones provide an excellent sound quality.
However, there are a few small drawbacks to the headphones. After about a year of light usage, the left earphone broke and as it was out of warranty, I did not want to spend a further £50 to replace the wiring. Regardless of this, the right earphone continues to work with a great sound quality.
i am sure that if taken care of, these headphones will please any music enthusiast.
These where the first pair of decent headphones I ever purchased, and even after some years I still admire them.
Because they are made by Bose, I expectedly good quality, but they sound quality surpassed my expectations. Maybe it was because I listened to poor quality music for so long through the cheap in-ear headphones that come with iPods. They fit over my ears comfortably and are very good at blocking out sound, I noticed this especially when I was on a plane to France, usually I avoid listening to music on plane journeys as you can still hear background noise, but this is not the case with these. Not only does it block out loud sound, but also retains noise quality which is a bonus. They have the ability to go quite loud, however don't have them up too loud as you will get black looks from people, as they let out sound quite easy, meaning others will be able to vaguely hear your tunes if you go over 3/4 on most music devices. They have quite a classy look about them, although unfortunately I have quite a big head so I need to extend them to the max, but still it doesn't look too silly. Lastly they seem to be quite durable, I have dropped them a few times but they seem to be able to happily take the damage without showing. Also I must mention that these do not fold away or come with a case of some sort, so it will be best to leave them round your neck as they seem to get in the way otherwise.
These are pricey, yet cheap compared to some competitors. And although I have moved on from these I would still recommend to those looking for a good quality pair of noise-cancelling headphones!
Clarity! That's the word that comes to mind when listening to these excellent headphones. They aren't the cheapest pair that you can get, but the quality of sound, especially on vocally led music is second to none. It can become a bit distorted on the bass at higher volume levels, but by the time you've turned it up that loud, it's possible time to get your hearing checked anyway. The separation of instruments is unsurpassed, you can cleanly and clearly hear all elements put into the music (think, orchestral) as well as enjoying a crisp presentation of the whole. They are quite light, some may say flimsy, but this pair has been through the wars in my handbag, and manages to emerge unscathed from the battles with perfume bottles, music scores, uncovered pens, lost keys and loose change. It takes quite a bit of throwing around. It's a comfortable pair to wear, though some limitation on the sizing of the head band means that it can interfere with a pretty well prepared hairdo, though that is not enough for me to rate down this excellent product.
Bose TriPort headphones answer the call for smooth, high-performance sound in a very lightweight package. Hear a greater range of music whether you're plugged into a computer or on the go with a portable media device. Their ergonomic design keeps them remarkably comfortable and lightweight, even as proprietary Bose headphone technology reveals the rich acoustical landscape of your music.
