Advantages: more secure than traditional ear phones

Disadvantages: not too secure on my ears

One of the annoying things about having to run is the sheer boredom of it, in my case it tends to hit around the 2 mile mark and results in no motivation or interest in carrying on. So the solution is to run with some kind of music player, I have an oddly large collection of mp3 players for someone who has never really seen the point of them but all those players came with traditional style ear phones, which sit in the outer area of the ear, but these do not stay put very well even when simply walking so biting the bullet I decided to buy a set of either earbuds or over ear style earphones in the hope that they would sit more comfortably.

Not wanting to spend alot of money on earphones (well I use cheap mp3's so not much likeilhood of sound quality being an issue) I wandered in to my local supermarket and picked up a set of these JVC Sport earphones, in the sale they cost me a mere £7.99 which to my mind was a more than reasonable price.

So are they any good? Sounds quality is decent enough, I can't hear much difference between the quality of these and my sisters (ridiculously expensive) Seinheiser earphones on her (top of the range) MP3, obviously on my cheapie mp3 the quality is as expected lower but perfectly acceptable. The volume is good I have found in the past that cheap earphones can disort at high volumes or are unusually quiet.

As they were bought to be used during fairly bouncy exersize how well do they stay in/on my ears?
Unfortunately I seem to have small ears as the overear section sits high over my actual ear, meaning when I start running they do tend to work loose but usually I realise this quickly enough to readjust them without too much messing around, my other half borrowed them when he was last visiting and said they fit his ear very comfortably and he had no appreciable issues with them working loose nor did he feel they were going to simply fall off as I sometimes do.

They are advertised as being splash proof which in the UK climate and going in to Autumn and Winter has to be a good thing, so far they haven't been used in more than a light drizzle but this does not seem to have affected them unduely and they still work as well as ever.

I think that these are probably very good if they fit your ears well, for me sadly they are a little too large and when I next remember I intend to buy another pair of sport style earphones to replace these.

Summary: Perfectly adequate earphones.
