Advantages: Price, quality, colour.
Disadvantages: See review - I have a few picky issues.
For years Gumys have been my headphone brand of choice, because they are cheap, flexible, they look good and they're hardwearing.
I first started buying Gumys many moons ago from HMV - where they are priced at a reasonable £7.00 per set. However you can now also purchase them up from on-line retailers such as Amazon and Play for a few pounds less.
The reason I keep returning to the Gumy brand is because I have a habit of breaking all other headphones. You see my i-Pod and the personal cassette and CD players that came before, literally get thrown into my handbag with a lot of other bits and pieces. My headphones often get tangled and knocked about - and so far Gumy headphones have been the only brand able to withstand the forces of Clurbur's bag.
I also use earphones a lot at work and other brands tend it irritate my ears after a while, but because Gumys are made out of a flexible, soft plastic material, I find that I can wear them for long periods without feeling uncomfortable.
You can get Gumy headphones in a variety of colours - pink, orange, blue, red, green and yellow - which makes a change from the usual black or white option available from other manufacturers!
When you first purchase these headphones you will probably find the casing difficult to open - they are sealed in a plastic case that you will need to attack it with a pair of scissors in order to release your purchase. I find the tough packaging a little annoying because if you ever needed to return the headphones then you'd have to send them back in broken plastic.
I wouldn't describe the sound quality amazing, but it is certainly passable and these headphones do last for a long time. Another slight complaint is the fact that the colour fades after around six months, but I am being picky by saying this, because in my experience other headphones don't last half as long.
I would certainly recommend the Gumy headphone brand - they provide great quality at a great price - for that reason I have to award this product five out of five stars!!
Summary: It's well worth investing in a pair!!
