... can't be picky. But what about the way they sound? I'd put them on a par with the old Apple earbuds which you got bundled with every iPod, iPhone etc up to the latest ones which have adopted the new EarPod design. So, they're not great, very tinny sound no matter what you do with your player's EQ. But again, for the money you can't really complain, if you want high quality, you wouldn't have considered something in the impulse section at the supermarket checkouts costing just £5. But, if you're like my mum, who says s...more

As a musician I own quite a few semi-professional headphones and in-earphones for different applications and in the last year or so I've made some surprising purchases that haven't been too expensive. Today however my iPod headphones (Sony ones) decided enough was enough and after fiddling with the cord from left to right, sometimes I'd get stereo and sometimes I'd not. I guess it was time to buy a new set of in-ear headphones... At 8am however the kinds of retailers I want to shop at are never open and either being compromised to buy cheap brands I've never heard of, I was more or less pushed to purchase the "Gumy" series by JVC. Why they are ...  Read the complete review

Edible Earphones? (482 words)

JVC HA F130B Gumy Headphones I have been using the apple earphones which came with my ipod touch for my phone and for my ipod but they broke, so I saw these in tesco and got them as they looked well made and by a good brand. *My opinion on the product* I have the black ones and they are just like any normal earphones. The earphones and the cord to the jack is the same colour. It does not have any microphone or volume button on the cord, they are just earphones but they are great! With some earphones I have tried - especially cheaper ones - they have hurt my ears as they are too hard, too big or the wrong shape, but these ones are ...  Read the complete review

JVC HA F130B Gumy Headphones: Thoroughly mediocre...but they'll do in a pinch! (568 words)

I'm one of those people that always walks around with music in their ears. Frankly, I've forgotten what it's like to saunter along the path and listen to the birds singing and the kids playing and the cars whooshing past. If I'm walking and I'm alone, I'm listening to my iPod. I am a creature of habit and tend to rely on one specific brand of headphones that I've come to trust. Unfortunately, my latest pair broke last week and I was forced to buy an intermediary pair or be doomed to walk without someone singing in the background of my life. A fate worse than death. I purchased a pair of Gumy headphones because they were similar in price range to what I'd ...  Read the complete review

Music to my ears! (666 words)

A couple of months ago I was looking for a cheap (but not too cheap!) pair of in ear headphones, hence when I spotted these in HMV they got added to my basket. *Pricing and Packaging* I think I paid £7 for these headphones, but it is possible to buy them elsewhere from about a fiver. What originally drew me to these headphones was the range of colours that they come in. Now I know colour isn't the best way to decide on things like electronic devices, but these headphones were in the right price range and purple! The packaging is a sort of clear plastic blister which allows you to see the product. I had to use scissors to open the ...  Read the complete review

JVC HA F130B Gumy Headphones: Funky Phones (367 words)

You've probably seen these if you've ever stepped foot inside an HMV or something. They're those crazy brightly coloured headphones like look like Haribo made them. The Gumy in ear phones are probably most famous for the sole reason that they come in some pretty cool colours, something the leading manufacturers like Sony or Sennheiser haven't really done yet. That was pretty much the reason I bought them. Well, that and you can pick up a pair for under seven or eight pounds which is pretty cheap, all things considered. They are made of pretty soft plastic, rightly, along with the pastel colours, earning them the "Gummi"-like name and fit ...  Read the complete review
