Advantages: Innexpensive, Durable & comfortable (in my experience)
Disadvantages: Not the greatest sound quality
After a brief search for a reasonable pair of earphones I bought these JVC Gumys. Basically they were a good price between the cheap and nasty kind and well below the expensive block the outside world out noise cancelling type.
I use them for non music/DVD activities on my laptop and also with my ipod on the buses and on flights.
I've fallen asleep with them in before and rolled over pulling them out, I've sat/slept on them, caught them a few times on my clothes...
These are things which have brought an untimely demise to previous earphones, not so with the Gumy's (yet). Having used them for about a year now I'm pleased with how well they've lasted
Comfort wise I forget I've got them in half the time when using my laptop, when I've fallen asleep with them in they haven't caused any irritation to my ears like so many previous earphones have done which for me is great.
In terms of sound they aren't the greatest, but then again they aren't bad. They're a bit light on the bass side of things but are good at the rest.
Style wise, they're just standard looking headphones which is neither a good or a bad thing.
If you're looking for good value earphones which aren't going to break the bank if they need replacing then consider the JVC Gumy
Summary: Good value, well made
