Advantages: cheap and colourful

Disadvantages: very loud outwardly and painful after a while

After my in-ear headphones finally gave up on me whilst I was travelling, I popped into the nearest HMV store to pick up the cheapest earphones I could find. The Gumy range was the cheapest at £5 so there was my answer, and I chose the kiwi green colour because they were my favourite.
I was originally impressed with these headphones, as anyone would be after they had to sit through an 8 hour coach trip with no music, because of broken headphones.
However, whilst on the 8 hour return trip I felt that the headphones were very unsuitable for being in such close proximity to people. The headphones did their job as headphones, and they weren't crackly or too heavy on the bass, however as my ipod has a problem with volume control I felt very embarrassed about the amount of sound that was given off by the headphones. They are not particularly soundproofed on the outside and I felt like a nuisance to the other passengers.
Also when I got home from my journey, I had these headphones in my ears for a very long time, and I may have sensitive ears but I felt that the shape of these headphones hurt my ears quite a lot. And for the amount of time that I use my ipod I don't think these would be suitable unless I wear them loosely.

Summary: ok headphones for listening to music, and also for everyone else to listen too
