Advantages: Bright colours, cheap.
Disadvantages: Very poor fitting, weak sound across the range, unuseable to me.
I have a few pairs of earphones and my 'best' pair rarely get taken outside to face the elements due to the expense. I have a few pairs of cheap and cheerful earphones for when I go out and the JVC 'Gumy' earphones were bought for this purpose. I bought my pair from Morrisons for just a couple of pounds, they can also be found online for around the £2-£5 mark which is very reasonable.
The JVC 'Gumy' earphones come in a vast array of bright and daring colours to suit all tastes. They are available in white or black also, so if you don't want them to stand out too much then you shouldn't be put off. I am very fussy when it comes to what I put in or on my ears and the JVC 'Gumy' earphones have soon been discarded in the back of one of my drawers. My Mum has since retrieved them, but my opinion of them is still quite low. Unfortunately I have expensive tastes, and I need earphones that sit comfortably in my ears. These earphones don't have interchangeable foam earpieces and they are of such a basic shape that they don't fit very well at all. After a while of wearing them my ears began to ache and I had to remove them. If you don't mind too much about fitment then the 'Gumy' earphones are a very affordable and viable option, but fit is everything to me.
The other critical attribute for any worthwhile set of earphones is sound. The JVC 'Gumy' earphones failed miserably in this category, too! If the earphones don't fit properly then air will leak from your ears, giving you no punchy bass and an overall weak sound. The sound volume was acceptable, but clarity wasn't up to scratch. I think if these earphones were designed better they would sound so much better, but they are just cheap and cheerful throwaway earphones that serve no purpose to myself anymore.
maybe it is because I am used to high-end earphones that fit to perfection and offer rich, deep bass and treble. Unfortunately the JVC 'Gumy' earphones don't give me anything positive to say about them. They may look pretty in their bright colours and packaging, but ultimately I would rather choose not to listen to music than use these earphones again. JVC do have some reasonably priced earphones that fit well in the ear canal, if they had a better fitment then I would happily give three stars, but the JVC 'Gumy' earphones come away with 1 star out of 5 due to their complete lack of design or quality.
Summary: Not worth buying as they are simply trash!
