Advantages: Comfortable To Wear, Fabulous Pure Sound
I have had an Ipod for a few years now and I usually use the docking system for it as I like to move my music around the house with me and until last year I never used the earphones that came with it, until I took up running and started to use the earphones and I have always found that the earphones were uncomfortable to wear as they hurt my ears and fell out rather a lot which is not great when you are running for 5 miles.
I saw the JVC gummy earphones on sale at Sainsbury's for £5.00 reduced from £10.00 and looking at the ergonomically designed shape I thought that they would be good, Oh okay then I got them because they were pink!
The earphones come in a small clear plastic case which I mistakenly thought was a carry case until I had to cut it up to get the earphones out which is a shame as it would have been good to have a case to keep them safe and clean.
The earphones themselves have a gel like feel to them rather than the usual hard plastic casing and this includes both the wire and the casing for the ear piece themselves.
The ear piece have the L and R markings on them and the wire has the clip that you can pull up and down to separate or closing the wires, they wires are slightly smaller than my previous pairs which I found was great as they don't get tangled up while your wearing them (3.28ft)
The speakers on the ear piece are round in shape and I was pleased that when I put them in that they fitted quite comfortably in my "small ears" and due to the gel style casing they were actually comfortable to wear and started to feel that they were moulded to my ears, this was a relief as previous ones have actually hurt my ears if I have worn them for any longer than 5 minutes.
I should say that my hubby who had no problems wearing my old ones also tried these and they fitted him just as comfortably as me and again I think that its due to the gel quality as it does sit in the ear really well.
What I was amazed at was the sound quality from them, they have a very pure sound and made me realise that my last pair had had a rather tin like sound to them and prevented you actually hearing the true sound of the music.
The only way that I can describe it was that the music sounded as though it had more depth to it and you could really hear the beat and was all in all a much more pure and true sound.
So far these were scoring high on the sound quality and comfort front but the real test for me would be how they performed when I went running as this is primarily what they would be used for.
I got all set with my new earphones and off I went, I was pleased that I never had to adjust the earpieces at all during my 5 mile run which is something I quite often had to do with my previous pair and the stayed comfortable the whole time.
I use a clip to keep the wires attached to me as I have a large bosom (I do love that word!) and without clipping them I feel like I'm constantly being whipped in the face.
The sound quality was brilliant and because I didn't need to keep adjusting the ear piece it made it a much more enjoyable experience.
They are available in lots of different colours including Yellow, Black, Lilac, Green and Blue and at the moment are priced at around £8.00 - £10.00. You can get them everywhere from record shops, supermarkets and online.
