A while back , for those that remember my reviews, I wrote a review on a set of phillips headphones that were fantastic for runners and the practicality that they had..but if you read the review I did say that they were not the best in terms of sound quality.
These set of headphones are fantastic in terms of quality. Now obviously if you buy a set of Sennheiser or Bose they will be better headphones, but in terms of value for money-these are the best.
Ive bought a few pairs of these and that is not a reflection on aspertions of bad quality in these headphones, its just that I listen to my ipods so much every day and so inevitably I get through headphones very quickly.
Perhaps a sign of these headphones great quality is that over a couple of years that I have been buying them the price has not really gone down much. Depending on which model you buy, (there are several that are denoted by different colours, like red, blue, black and white outer bass shells), the price hovers around the £12 to £14 mark (inc P&P). Well worth it and as I siad the best headphones for their price range.
So why are they so good. Well its the balance that they strike between bass and treble. Most headphones in my opinion have plenty of treble but not enough bass, so they sound all tinny. But these do not. Its the 'air cushion' within the rubber section that does the trick. JVC carried out research that found that most people hated in ear headphones because they keep falling out or getting dislodged. This mean`t that not only do you lose the bass , but that everyone else can hear what it is your listening to...and sometimes that could be embarrasing and annoying for others.
The headphones use a soft silicon rubber air cushion for the earpiece body. The results are that they stay in place while remaining comfortable. In addition, the design also provides superior isolation from background noise, via the headphone's 8.5mm neodymium driver. Also noise caused by cord movement is also minimized which I never knew could be a problem, this is due to the headphone's Friction Noise Reduction Cord.
The bass is great as is the treble and I have yet to have headphones that match the balance. The response bandwidth is betwen 10-23000 mhz, meaning the band synchronisation is very wide.
The only problem I have had with these earphones are with the plastic buds (that come in three sizes for different size ear canals). After a while the ear buds get waxy and they start to fall out as you remove the headphones, or they stay in your ear canal. So eventually they get lost and you have to buy replacements which will set you back another £3-£4. So heres a tip, superglue the rubber bud onto the plastic part of the headphones that they attach to. Now they will always stay attached.
The headphones come with 3 sets of rubber buds for different size ear canals, a half metre cord and a carry case for the cord and for the rubber buds.
Forget about the rest and buy these, you shall not be dissapointed
I bought this product around four months ago after my ipod, Panasonic and JVC gummies earphones broke within 2 months.
In comparison with the other headphones I have used these were so much more comfotable than the others because they have small rubber ear buffs that just slide into your ear canal, I've fallen to sleep in these because they are that comfortable.
Another plus is that they don't fall out of your ears because they have a special rubber cushion that rests just outside your ear givin even more comfort.
They aren't fiddly and they are pretty reasonable price wise too I bought mine for £14.00 of Amazon.
In my opinion the sound quality is amazing for such brilliant volume headphones if you want some sound quality earphones for under £50 then these are totally excellent.
I've heard reports that some people think the sound is tinny but if you fit the earphones into the ear correctly this is not the case as I have noticed that they have perfect bass reproduction.
This product also blocks out irritating noise vibrations from the earphone wires and backgroung noises. (this can be useful when you've got annoying younger siblings in the car with you on a long journey)
These earphones look stylish also I think you can get two different colours.
I bought the red ones and hey they don't match my ipod but theres no way I'm willing to pay £21 for iphones that are totally shit when I could get some brilliant quality JVC headphones for a much more reasonable price.
I have had these earphones for four months now and they still work perfectly the sound quality hasn't lessened in anyway.
FAR MORE RELIABLE THAN ANY IPOD EARPHONES.
DON'T BE RIPPED OFF BY APPLE.
JVC research shows that consumers' biggest problem with in-ear headphones is their tendency to fall out. The HA-FX66 headphones tackle that problem by using a soft silicon rubber air cushion for the earpiece body. In addition, the headphones come with three different size silicon rubber and memory foam cushion earpieces for the best possible fit. The result is an in-ear headphone that stays securely in place while remaining comfortable. What's more, the design also provides superior isolation from background noise, allowing the user to get the most out of the headphone's 8.5 mm neodymium driver. Noise caused by cord movement is also minimized because of the headphone's friction noise reduction cord vibration-proof structure.
