When I buy audio equipment, I usually do lots of research as I am not an expert and buy based on reviews or personal recommendation. Koss were recommended to me and I chose the Sporta Pro headphones primarily because I wanted headphones that were portable, lightweight and comfortable. Sporta Pro seemed ideal as the claim was they delivered the same sound quality as the Koss Porta Pro.
They come in a plastic pack which was very easy to get into. The pack contains the headphones, a jack and a drawstring pouch.
The headphones are all black; the only decoration is the brand name and model on each earpiece. I like this simple design.
These are small headphones that can be worn on top or on the back of the head. I always wear mine on the back of my head as I don't like messing my hair up. They are extremely lightweight and very comfortable to wear. The headband is really flexible and can be easily adjusted to your head size and so fits comfortably and securely. The earpiece and foam pads also swivels which also means you can get a really comfortable fit.
Simply extend the headband using the sliders so they fit on top or at the back of your head and then adjust them to get a tighter fit and a comfortable position.
These are designed for active wear but I haven't tested how good they are in the 'active department' as I usually wear these while I am travelling with my IPod rather than for sports use.
They are perfect for travelling as they fold down quite small and you can carry them around in the pouch provided. They don't fit the pouch perfectly, but carrying them this way means they don't get tangled up with all the other stuff I carry around.
The wire is 4 feet long so plenty to play with and there is also a jack that they claim minimises cord stress, not something I use so I can't say whether it does help.
I think the sound quality is excellent for such a small lightweight headphone. I like a really bass sound and these deliver on that front. The sound is really clear and you can hear every detail. I also like that you can still hear what is happening around you especially as I use these on the go and whilst I like to listen to music, I don't like being totally cut off from my surroundings.
These weigh around 2 ounces so you don't really feel like you are wearing headphones. There is no pressure on the ear once I have positioned them to my satisfaction. I don't get headphone head hair or experience any discomfort when I am wearing these. I much prefer wearing these to in ear headphones as I don't have to mess around positioning them or take them off because they start to irritate my ear.
A great compact lightweight headphone. Very flexible and most important extremely comfortable around the head and ear. Easy to carry and great sound quality plus you still feel connected to the outside world as you can hear sounds around you. That may not suit everyone but I don't like not being able to hear what is going on around me as I don't feel safe.
They do feel quite flimsy, but they have survived travelling around in my very messy handbag for a couple of years and are still as good as new.
They also look quite cheap, but the sound quality is amazing which surprised me because of the way they looked and how light they are.
They are easy to manoeuvre into a comfortable position and once in place you can almost forget you are wearing them.
I bought mine from Amazon and paid around £20 and they are currently on sale for around the same price.
