Advantages: Really dulls outside sounds allowing lower volumes for listening.

Disadvantages: Too much bass, can cause discomfort over time.

These earphones look a little bit disturbing at first and the thought of putting them into my ears was one that I didn't not relish in to begin with. But I took the plunge and did it. Unlike most in ear earphones instead of ear buds the Koos 'plugs' use a pair of sort of foamy, marshmallowy like well.. plugs!
They do the job of plugging up your ears thats for sure. With them in most sounds are severely dulled and silenced leaving you to listen to your music almost uninterrupted by the outide world.
My first impression was that the earphones gaves a very bassy sound, too bassy in my opinion, an unusual area in which earphones struggle usually being too tinny. Other than that quality was fine. I was listening to music at much lower volumes because of the plugging of my ears and I'm sure with these my ears are less likely to become damaged. Another thing I noticed after a lengthy period of listening was that my ears became quite hot and the plugs felt tight and uncomfortable so I had to take them out a few time to give my ears a bit of a 'breather'.
I soon adjusted to the bassy quality of the earphones and I do use these earphones as a backup pair. They are good earphones, great for the price but the uber bass and discomfort prevents me from wanting to use these earphones all of the time.

Summary: A decent pair of headphones but I just don't feel like using them all the time.
