If you're interested in music, produce/want to produce music, dj or anything to do with music - these are your perfect headphones. My brother-in-law originally recommended these to my partner as they are both very interested in music and my brother-in-law dj's 4 nights a week. According to him, these were the best headphones he had ever used because of the quality and style, this was enough to win us over. We decided to buy one pair between us and keep them in our 'studio' so when I'm doing my university studies and hes making music we can use them - hopefully we never want them at the same time!

The 'Dr Dre Beats' headphones are becoming incredibly popular but have been around for a few years, they were originally used by mainly people professionally in the music business but are now free to buy - although with a price tag!

We asked for ours as a joint present from my parents (silly thing to get joint when you've just moved in together and need a table!) for Christmas and got them as an early Christmas present due to him needing them for a dj set soon. They come packaged in a box with a sleeve which is black with a red top. 'Dr Dre Beats Studio' is written down the side with a side on picture of the headphones. Inside the sleeve is the black box holding the headphones. In the black box is a travel case which zips up and holds your headphones inside - I have never used this for travelling but it holds the headphones while they are not in use so they don't get damaged.

Inside the box is a 3.5mm adaptor so you can connect your headphones to an mp3, iPod, deck, laptop or any music device of your choice. There is also the travel case which I mentioned previously and a 'monster' cleaning cloth to keep your studios clean (which we have never used).

The studio beats come in black, white, lime green, orange, pink, navy blue and purple - quite a big range so there is something for everyone. They are made from aluminium which makes them lightweight and hard to break (although I wouldn't try it). I love that the over head bar is adjustable so it will fit to any head size and has comfortable sound blocking pads which feel lovely on your ears and make it so you can only hear the music not background noise. The pads hold the speaker a little further away from your ear too, stopping you're ears from being damaged or hurt from the volume of the music - but it is still clear.
I found out earlier that the headphones can be folded up 3 different ways to help them squeeze into the smallest spaces - handy!

The volume of these can go quite high but it depends on what its plugged into. For example, professional equiptment will go higher than an mp3 player. I have only listened to my iPod and my boyfriend to his iPod and his decks and he said the sound doesn't differ and seems to be perfectly clear even at full which is a bonus.

One problem has arrisen from this product so far which is how easily it scratches and its quite unavoidable. I use the cloth every time I take out and put back the headphones so either my partner is ruining them or they just damage quickly.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone wanting over the head good quality headphones - I can't fault them other than the above and I'm very critical.
These cost £279.99 from 'beatsbydre.com', but you can probably find them cheaper elsewhere - just be careful you don't buy fakes!
