Advantages: good sound quality, nice design
Disadvantages: expensive, don't contain the sound
As I write this a pair of bright orange headphones are slung around my neck, pumping out the beat to whatever crap it is I have on my iPhone. These are beats by dr. dre.
Setting me back around £230 at Edinburgh airport, they would have to be the most expensive headphones I've ever owned. Are they worth it? Well the bold design and crystal clear sound say yes.
Each and every part of your song comes through with an audacity that a generic pair of headphones could never give. The music finds a way past even my stony cold exterior in such a way makes you want to stop and actually listen to the music. It's a lucky fact then, that the noise canceling features means that pretty much all you can hear is the music. Even before you press play meaningless conversations turn into something of a muffled blur.
An eye-catching style that is fast catching on and the unmistakable logo on each ear, with the words 'beats by dr. dre' stamped across the top. These are going to become an irreplaceable part of my wardrobe.
The only downside to this would be that when listening to your tunes indoors, it might be a good idea to listen with on volume on fairly low. The headphones can go pretty loud and although you might like rocking out at full blast, those surrounding you might not be best pleased. You see, for such good headphones, the sound does tend to spread further than you'd want it to... Another factor to consider is the need to power your headphones independently with AAA batteries, which involves remembering to turn them on and off with each use. Having never experienced this with previous pairs of headphones I was put off somewhat at first, but not for long.
Overall, I'd say these headphones are a must-have for anyone who wants to listen to their music and really hear it.
Summary: great pair of headphones, if a little overpriced...
