Lets start on a positive: The bass is unreal with these, you really feel like the music is thumping in your ears and I really really miss this sound!! They are also so light and they block out sound around you which is great!
I've now had two pairs... both broke :(
To be fair, I left my first pair in my drive one night, and the next day i found them in a puddle... and they still worked for a long time after that!!! The white discolours really easily especially if you wear makeup!!
If you want headphones which will last you two years then get these!
I really do miss these headphones.... the sound was amazing!!!
My second pair broke in one ear then the other followed - the same with the first pair..
Should you get these?? YES because they are amazing, despite the fact they will break after a years use!
I've now bought some MONSTER DNA ones which I will review next
Well aren't these pleasing to the eye! When I first saw images of this product I kind of hoped and half expected their to be some sort of diamonds on the headphones to bling them out and to generally make them more 'GAGA'.
I found the audio quality not to be as great as I expected. With Lady GAGA now dominating the charts, I would have thought her product would dominate my ear drums, I was sadly mistaken. Not enough bass and a bit too much pitch.
The materials used let me down as well I felt. The cable feels the same as any other head phone and doesn't seem to be reinforced like other competitors. This is probably what lets the product down the most, the lack of quality and care. The cable is way too long as well, I found that I was stuffing my pocket with it. The ear buds also do not fit comfortably into the ear, I had to keep taking them out to scratch inside my ear canal due to the itching caused.
Sorry GAGA, I still love and believe in your music.
I was getting tired of having my usual Apple earphones breaking so decided to purchase these on the reccomendation from a friend. Before I had even imagined buying them I had heard nothing but good things about them and definitley wasn't let down.
The earphones themselves come in a variety of colours and are a triangle sort shape with a crystal effect which definitley stand out compared to my previous earphones! I chose to have mine styled in black and when I returned home after buying them from a local HMV store I was excited to 'hear' what all the fuss was about for myself. I quickly unplugged my earphones from my IPod and inserted my new ones in amd listened to a variety of different music to see how good it sounded with different genres.
The first song I played was 'Just Dance' from the woman who endorsed the earphones herself as I knew it was a very pumping song with a loty of bass and I have to admit I was overwhelmed by how good they were. It sounded amazing, the music somehow sounded more clear and more alive, as silly as that may seem to read.
The second song was 'Everytime' by Britney Spears because I wanted to hear how a slower song would sound and all the melodies played very well, I love hearing all of my IPod playlist with these headphones!
The music sounds louder, and they do make you stand out from the crowd to average apple earphones, I even use them with my BlackBerry which work just as well with the IPod.
I would definitley reccommend this product to anyone who loves to listen to music, also, I have had mine for a few months now and they show no signs of wearing which was also unexpected. Love them!
These headphones are great looking without being too bold like the other beats headphones, and the audio quality is fantastic, especially for basey tunes, I'm not usually a fan of in-ear headphones but these ones come with in-ear buds of various sizes so you can choose which ones fit you better for a more comfortable listen. They also come in a handy little zip pouch to keep them clean and safe. The in-ear buds reduce sound escaping, meaning you won't disturn the person next to you with what you're listening to...
The cables are thick and wide which makes them less likely to get tangled up as headphone wired usually do. I think the rubber material used also assists this.
Though the first pair of these I had after a year and a half started to malfunction - They were used alot - but were covered under the beats warranty. So I called up a number found on their website and I was sent details of how to send them off for repair / replacement - I sent them abroad and a few weeks later was sent a brand new set - so full marks to monster beats for honouring their warranty. They are expensive headphones so it's nice to know if something goes wrong you're covered.
I'm still enjoying using these headphones.
I recently brought a different set of headphones in the ibeats range and they broke so I had to exchange them for another pair they had in stock. So I ended up with these by accident and thought I'd let you know my review of them. I think they are poorly designed for a start the triangle shape makes it painful for some listeners, as it happens I just changed to a smaller ear bud and it seemed to fit ok. I like the idea of the ribbon wire, they do not tangle as easily. I also like the L-shape connector as I use these in my iPad very often resting the wire on the arm chair or something. Which would normally break the connector, so this is great. It has also got a built in mic/control. The mic is perfect. Crystal clear audio, and very easy to use. It's handy having a control for touch screen devices.
So the sound itself is great once you get the fit perfectly snug. Nice deep bass, and it sounds great if you ask me. However, they do leak sound out quite a lot, so I have to have them low down if I'm in public. I paid £79 originally for these headphones, I do think it's a bit too pricey, your just paying for the name really.
I bought some MonsterCable Lady Gaga Heartbeat earphones for my other half for her birthday. She is a massive fan and Lady Gaga is her idol and she models her whole look on her and has done for quite some time now. Prior to this, her style icon was Madonna.
These earphones were designed by Gaga herself and I made sure I had some on order ages before they were released by HMV as I was worried they would sell out. They cost me almost eighty quid but I understand you can now buy them for a considerably cheaper price. My other half really loves her MonsterCable Lady Gaga Heartbeats and she wears them on an almost daily basis.
I have also used these earphones and I can personally vouch that all the positives my other half has said about them are actually true.
Firstly, they are a truly innovative design and we both love the fantastic and yet quirky triangular shape of the earphone and the fact that they fit so snugly and easily into our respective ears. I think I may have mentioned previously that I do suffer quite a lot from being unable to find a decent fit as far as earphones are concerned, and this is primarliy due to the fact that both of my ears are different shapes and I often find that the left one will fall out.
This is not the case with the MonsterCable Lady Gaga Heartbeats. What we both also personally love about these earphones is the fact that you can buy different sizes and shapes of earfits to go with them so that you get a perfect fit and seal every time, no matter what your earshape is.
I personally think these MonsterCable Lady Gaga Heartbeats are of an excellent quality and that they deliver clarity of sound and really do help minimize external noise. My other half can shout at me for ages when I am listening to music with the MonsterCable Lady Gaga Heartbeats on my ears, and I never fail to hear her above the sound of the beat in my ears.
We also both really love the fact that they come with a rather unique flat cable which is 'tangless'. I can personally vouch also that despite haveing used these particularMonsterCable Lady Gaga Heartbeats on many occasions, that they have never once yet become entangled. Marvellous! They also come with an impressive three year warranty for peace of mind. I personally recommend these to anyone and though they are marketed towards women, I am more than happy to be seen out in public weraing them!

These headphones were a present from my best friend as she is fully aware of my love for Gaga! These headphones were just short of £80, so they are far from cheap. The headphones look very glamorous and expensive. Mine are a wine red colour and they have a triangular shaped bud that fits into your ear. My headhones also came with two spare pairs of buds, they were different sizes too. I have since found the right size bud for my ear.
The cord to these headphones is flat, meaning that it is tangle proof. I can say that this is true, the cord NEVER tangles, leaving you free to listen to your music without fear of wrapping yourself in cord! The sound quality of these headphones is superior to any other headphones that I have used. They give out an incredible bass sound, making your music sound clearer and sharper than ever before.
These headphones suit ALL genres of music, from country to rock. They aren't cheap, however, they last ages and you will get your usage out of them. They look great too. They are very unique and nice to look at. I would recommend them. The only downside is the price!
Great headphones. Great for travelling as they drown out outside noises. Great for all ages. They're just great!
I will begin by saying I'm a huge Lady Gaga fan and that was my primary reason for buying these but I'll keep this strictly about the product. Heartbeats by Lady Gaga are part of the beats by Dr Dre brand from monster.
Heartbeats are in ear headphones and come with several different size buds to suit your ear. It can take a little while to get used to the headphone as you need to work out which size is best for you. They made fit in your ear fine but you need to walk around with them in for a while to make sure they don't fall out when you're moving. The outer triangle part of the earphone also takes a little getting used to.
The sound is really good. I've used them with a variety of devices and all produce good sound. As they are in ear headphones they are really good at blocking out outside noise. This means you only hear the music which is great. I've previously found I had to have the volume up really loud to block out traffic noise when I'm walking along the street but with heartbeats you can have the volume really low and still hear the music clearly - probably better for your ears.
I've got the red heartbeats and I think they look great. The style of them is different from other headphones which I really like. They are slightly bigger than regular headphones but still discrete. The cable is flat and designed to prevent the cable getting tangled in knots which it does - I've never had a knot in them in nearly two years. Heartbeats also come with a case to keep them in. The case is in the same triangle shape and colour as the headphones. I find this really useful as it protects from other things in my bag.
Overall I love heartbeats and wouldn't want to use anything else again. Great sound, great look and great to use. What more could you want?
**** Since writing this review I have had problems with the reliability of the headphones. For the amount I have spent these headphones seem to be faulty. I have had problems with the sound in one ear. At times there is no sound and when there is sound in the left ear it is much lower than that in the right. This isn't due to poor treatment as I have tried my best to look after them. This is unfortunate as other than this problem I love these headphones. Having done further research it seems this is a problem amongst Monster/Beats headphones, fragile cables seem to be the blame. A negative for the brand overall, not just these particular headphones. To their credit though I have found customer services to be helpful and provided a new set of headphones. I have adjusted my overall rating and the reliability accordingly.
I, as a sound engineer, get given a lot of pairs of headphones for testing and about 2 months ago I was given these rather exciting looking in-ear headphones. These retail between £65 and £80, quite a range!
BUILT & COMFORTABILITY
STRAIGHT out of the box I thought they looked good and the carry case was a bonus for an expensive pair of earphones, I was however disappointed with how easily the buds became un-attached from the speaker. They have an anti-tagle 1M cable that is quite effective and leads down to the 3.5mm gold plated jack (standard for MP3 players). They are comfortable whilst they are in your ear though, so it's not all bad.
NOT what I would expect from a product of this expense. Yes they are better than the bog standard factory included earphones but they are also significantly more expensive. The bass is good but as a whole the output isn't as good as some of the price range competitors. I feel that the improvement from a pair a 1/3rd of the price is minimal, I feel you are paying for having a posh casing and the name 'LADY GAGA' attached to them. The bass is the main feature of these so if you like that then they might be worth a try but if you like a treble, mid-range and bass balance these do not deliver. I find the noise isolation averagely effective, I would be happy for it if they cost £30 but they cost over double this.
THEY are a good earphone, with the anti-tangle and the bass response, they also look quite impressive but for me this sort of product isn't a fashion statement and that's what these are! This review would have read very differently if they were £30-£40 but the fact is they are over £65 and I just could not justify paying that price. The buds are loose and the overall sound balance is something i'd expect from a much cheaper earphone.
With the phenomenon that is Lady Gaga has come a huge range of merchandise, as always, with artists looking to cash in on their fame and their brand. Lady Gaga is by no means subtle, therefore the totally over the top styling of these 'Heartbeat' headphones are of no surprise to her fans. I wouldn't class myself as a Gaga fan, but I did get suckered in and just had to see what all the fuss was about with her new headphones.
Monster are the makers of the headphones, and at around £80 they are certainly not cheap. Unfortunately I were left disappointed with the overall comfort of them. The design of the headphones isn't very ergonomic, and comfort has clearly been sacrificed for style. As with a number of different brands of in-ear headphones, these come with 3 different sizes of silicone earbuds and if none of these are suitable then there are other variations sold seperately including a foam tipped set. Personally I think for £80 you should get these included in the set, but not on this occasion.
The Heartbeats come in red, black and silver, and I have the silver ones. The atual wire for the headphones is more like a band and is plain white but stands out well due to its unusual design. Overall I think the sound quality is a little poor, especially at the lower end, and I shouldn't be surprised really. It is easy to say now, but these earphones are very much an expensive gimmick, and for true music lovers they will fall short of expectations.
My sister is a HUGE lady gaga fan and with her birthday fast approaching, it wasn't hard to guess what to get her, especially since she made sure to leave subtle hints around the house. We guessed the 'heartbeats' as they're titled, would be snapped up instantly by enthusiastic fans after their release. Luckily they weren't and my brother, working at HMV, managed to get us a pair in rose-red for £79.99 - ridiculously overpriced if you ask me >:( (The headphones are also available in 'bright chrome' and 'black chrome' for the same price.)
So what's in the package? We got the heartbeats in ear headphones themselves, a travel pouch and a 3 year warranty. The box also contained a collection of ear tips in multiple shapes and sizes that cater to your individual ear shape. So you're supposed to get a comfortable, sound-isolating seal that keeps all the sound you want in and all the unwanted external noise out. I liked the idea of including a Plush Travel Case also that'll keep your heartbeats safe and sound, especially if you're going to be spending £70 on a pair of headphones, you're going to want to keep them looking brand spanking new.
One thing I've always hated with earphones is having to spend hours frustratingly trying to untangle them. However, these babies aren't your average tangle prone headphones, featuring Monster's innovative and exclusive patent pending design, they get you the most accurate signal and are tangle-resistant also - no more knots! Plus the look integrates seamlessly into the carefully crafted style of Heartbeats.
Designed by Lady Gaga herself the headphones are very reflective of her style and imagination. But not only are the heartbeats artistically 'Gaga' but sonically produced by Dr Dre. himself.
So how did they actually bear up when we put them to the test...? The only criticism I have is that the headphones kept falling out of my ears, despite having various different designs that are supposed to cater to every individual - but no one else in my family had this problem so maybe it's just that I have abnormally deformed ears...? But anyway, other than that, I can't fault them in terms of performance and looks they certainly deliver. The heartbeats speakers deliver music with extreme clarity and bass, without distortion, or interference from external sources!
Would I recommend them...? Absolutely. But as a matter of personal opinion, if I had an extra £70 at my disposal, I don't think I'd spend it on a pair of headphones, no matter how good they may be in design or quality. Don't get me wrong I like my music as much as the next person, and perhaps if I was a lady gaga enthusiast, I'd most likely buy them, but - hey... I'm not. So on a high note if you have a spare £70 lying around, are a Gaga fanatic or are looking to buy some well-built, stylish and high quality headphones I'd definitely recommend - no hesitation!
It took me a while to decide to buy the Lady Gaga Heartbeat headphones. Admittedly I wasn't planning to spend so much on a pair of earphones- but I am a huge Lady Gaga fan and they do look different and stylish- I really couldn't resist them in the end.
I like the sound isolating ear buds and when the music is playing you really cannot hear anything of the outside world. The other little touch I appreciate are the flat cables to stop tangling which really do work.
The sound quality is great but to be honest I expected better for earphones that cost nearly £100. The bass can be little puny although vocals and other intruments such as acoustic guitar and piano are a lot clearer than other earphones I have used.
For the average person these earphones are fine. However for those of you out there who are not as big a Gaga fan as I am you are sure to find plenty (albeit small) issues with Heartbeats. The major selling point is the visual- they do turn heads and look great but please be aware that you are paying for style over substance.
For any true audiophiles- your hundred quid is probably best spent elsewhere.
The overal design of the lady gaga Monster ear-phones, is certainly eye catching and truly unuique.
It is unlike anything else out there.
I particualrly like the raised noduels on the side and the bright red makes them a really funky set of girls headphones.
When hooked up to an ipod you realise straight away that despite the slim size of these things, there pack alot of bass. This seems (having listened to them alot, as I bought them as a gift for my partner), to be due to the fact in no small fact due to Monster developing micro drivers and packing them into the rear of the earphone itself.
Despite there "Ga-ga" esque look, the ear bud's themselves are slicone tipped and are incredibly comfortable, They push partly into the ear canal, just far enough to keep out alot of exterior noise when playing quiet tracks, where outside noise is a problem.
When I listened to my test track "Iris" by the Goo-Goo dolls I was very impressed with the string's from the acoustic guitar on the intro, You do not "just" hear the guitar strings, so much as the strings actually being "plucked". This is only evident on higher end phones, as alot of audio euuipment will not register the sound levels, required to capture the "plucking" sound. This may sound like a "mute" point. (no pun intended!), however it is key earphones pick up relevant frequencies to music, their tones instruments and so on.
I also tested them on certain Mozart symphonies and you literally can hear the whole strings, piano and the entirety of the orchastra.
I was sceptical at first, but style with substance...
A jolly good pair of earphone's...looking pretty funky to boot!
As a Lady Gaga fan, I did that annoying thing of jumping on the bandwagon for buying her commercialised products. These headphones retail at roughly £75, obviously varying per retailer - a very steep price. However, I got mine cheaper from Ebay, so if you choose to buy these, I would recommend having a look, but beware of fakes!
These headphones are available in whire, rose red or black chrome. I chose rose red, so I can only comment on this colour. I was expeting a bright red colour, but it appears that the 'rose' in its colour description is more important than first thought. The colour definately has a distinct pink tone to it, which looks really lovely and stylish. It is also quite a noticeable colour once in your ear.
Starting with the packaging, you can tell that this product is all about high quality standards. The outer sleeve shows a detailed view of one of the headphones, with 'Lady Gaga' written in metallic silver writing that is slightly raised from the box. On the back, the background changes to black with a picture of Lady Gaga wearing these headphones and a short piece of writing by her. Also, a description of the headphones that says:
'Heartbeats are not only authentically and stylistically Lady Gaga, but sonically Dr Dre, with club caliber bass, crystal clarity and power that lets you hear every essential note, no other headphone looks or sounds like Heartbeats.'
Once you take the sleeve off, the black and silver colour scheme continues, with 'Lady Gaga' again written in silver and embossed into the cardboard. This box opens like a book, with a small ribbon on the side to help open it.
The layout inside is very elegant, with the protective case towards the bottom and the wires seeming to be curling out of it, with the heads themselves in their own storage hole.
The headphones have flat, white wires (unless you buy the black chrome ones) which claim to totally prevent tangling. I comepletely agree with this claim, it makes such a difference, taking away the nuisance of detangling everytime you want to use them. Absolute genious!
As for the aesthetics of these, I love them! Their design is diffucult to explain but the provided picture is very accurate. They're are unique and have a funky, fresh design that look great in your ears.
The use of these have many claims. The wiring is made by Monster cable, which is a high performance wiring that I genuinely found to give clear, crisp sound. I am quite skeptical about these kind of things, so was pleasently surprised.
They also deliver music with a deep bass that is quite new to me but I am enjoying. My friend tried them out and she described the sound as hearing instruments that you've never heard before - very impressive. They also help to exclude outdide noise and distortion. They truely are a whole new level above other headphones.
Another small benefit to these is that they come with a few different size replacement buds to suit the size of your ears, which was good for me as mine seem to be smaller than most people's.
The only downside to these is that the in-ear design took me a while to get used to as I had never used this typre before. This will obviously not be a problem to everyone as a lot of people will not be unfamiliar to them.
All in all, these are excellent and well worth spending some extra money on - but maybe not the full amount!
I have to admit to not knowing a whole lot about headphones but these were purchased for my birthday by my uncle who is aware that I'm a bit of a Lady Gaga fan. I think, therefore, that he purchased them because of the association with Lady Gaga rather than my burning desire to own some new fashionable headphones! However, they do look pretty cool and I have had the opportunity to use them over the week and so now its time for my review! I apologise ahead of time if I leave out any technical lingo but I will try to speak as I find!!
Without a doubt, I have never seen earphones like this before and they really do stand out as something unique that is intended as a fashion accessory as much as a functional piece of auditory equipment.
The earpieces of the earphones are very large and triangular. The colour of mine are "Red rose" but I know that there are other colours such as "Black Chrome". The plastic outside covering of the earpieces are textured and decorated with a triangular pattern within the triangular shape of the earphones. The rest of the casing is white and provides a nice contrast to the red colour.
There are three silicone eartips to choose from which are of different sizes and so therefore designed to fit your ears more comfortably. I did spend some time trying to work out which was the most comfortable fit for my ears and I'm still not completely decided and tend to alternate between two of them. The silicone is quite soft and having some flexibility with the shape and size of the eartips does actually make them quite comfortable to wear. The eartips are angled to slide partly into the ear and the seal on them when sitting here was good. Previously I've always been someone who has avoided internal earphones because I've found them uncomfortable after a few minutes - but these are undoubtedly designed for a more comfortable fit.
One thing I hate is sitting next to someone on the tube who is listening to music via headphones and it feels as if you can hear as much as he can hear! Well, I tried these headphones out with a friend and she couldn't hear anything - which is a relief because it means I can listen to cheesy music without having to have it turned down low so as to not be ashamed! Similarly, I wore these headphones when listening to some soft relaxing music when trying to drown out the snoring of a friend who was sharing a room with me and I couldn't hear her snoring anymore. Yippee!
The sound quality seems to be very good as the music sounds clear without any interference. I have found that I've had to have the volume quite low because when I've had it higher, the depth / quality of the sound has been quite uncomfortable on my ears. I know that sounds a strange complaint, but its worth pointing out!
The cables are tangle-free - again due to the design, and I've had no tangling, although I have to admit that I've never had a huge issue with tangling anyway.
I do like my headphones although I am sometimes a bit self conscious because people do look at them and one or two people have struck up a conversation about them with me. I do think they're not everyone's cup of tea, but they are a decent set of headphones and they do a good job as well as looking unique. I wouldn't say I'm going gaga for these headphones, but they're a fun gadget to own.
