In general it was all fairly straightforward although it wasn't much different to my old set so I'm not sure how easy it would be for a "beginner". The main differences were you have to put batteries into the headset, but once these are in you don't need to remove them. The other thing, is the old transmitter was like a little tower, which as well as its obvious purpose, allowed the headphones to sit on top while charging....more

When I bought my 1st TV a number of years ago, one important aspect was to be able to have it on in the evenings and not disturb others in the house. So other than sitting directly under the TV - an uncomfortable method, not to mention eye damage(!) - the only reasonable option was cordless headphones. Well the set I have had since that time have now worn out - 1 ear stopped working and the foam wore off a long time ago. So it was time to buy some more!
