Disadvantages: Costly, Bulky
Hooray...., headphones are no longer dull and boring. This is relatively new to me and I didn't even know they existed. Philips have introduced wireless headphones which look funky fresh and oh so modern. It was my birthday a couple of months ago and my parents decided to get me them because they know how much I love my music and they seemed such a bargain. I received them later on and was delighted with what I saw. A silvery black colour with what looked like soft padding on the inside. They felt quite heavy in my hand but they're headphones not earphones. I thought it would be alright once I put them on my head. I couldn?t think what else I could use them with other than my personal CD player. Then I though about the PC, TV, electronic piano and much more possibilities! I took them out of their packaging and read the instructions . From what I read I thought all information was clearly laid out and in an easy to understand language. Pictures were used to illustrate points. The service and support seemed great and the product came with 1 year Warranty. Which I hoped I wouldn't need the details of. I find Warranty is always good to have just incase of mishaps with the product. These headphones looked quite flimsy and my others broke if they were dropped on hard surfaces or sat on by me! I finished with the instructions and took out the headphones. To my disappointment I found out that they needed to be charged for 15 hours and I did what I was told. Also 2 AAA batteries which needed to be rechargeable were included and had to be inserted into the headset. The person could be as much as 7m away from the transmitter with the infra red (Ir.) display before the sound would crackle or stop. Leaving the person with freedom of movement and increased comfort. I actually had to wait till the next day before I could put them to use. This was a major disadvantage and was incredibly time consuming for me. The headphones set on t
op of the transmitter which was a circular oval shaped object. The headphones still work if the transmitter isn?t directly opposite them. You don?t have to be exact. The transmitter enclosed the infra red system. The lights were present in the front of them in a row. I successfully had them charged and plugged them into my Personal CD Player. I was amazed at the comfort and sound quality. They sat snugly on my had and surrounded my ears perfectly which I felt enhanced the sound much more than my old set. The maximum volume this product can handle is 50Db after that the infrared light flashes and the person hears nothing. Not a set of headphones for someone listening to heavy metal and extremely loud rock music. (not me of course!) I hope this set brings me years of great music listening and don?t just stop working in one ear. Before I forget, I checked up on what my parents think I?m worth! £15.99 is what they paid. A total bargain! I also got other things, so that?s all right! Thanks ever so much for reading and I?ll keep in touch with your ops also! Happy New Year everyone! Olivia xx

- 14/01/04 I must admit to not using headphones any more, but we used to have a set of wireless headphones and they really do give you extra freedom. Well written review. :0) Damon. |
