Great value earphones
Member Name: jboho
Advantages: Above average sound quality for £25
Disadvantages: None, considering the price
These will certainly first strike you as a pair of good- looking, cheap earphones. Another attractive prospect is that they are made by Philips, a well renown company you can be sure will deliver results.
As with all speakers, I tested them over five tracks of varying audio: classical, spoken word, pop, metal and electronic- these provide a good range of pitch types and dynamic changes. These earphones were surprisingly good for the £25 price tag. The classical piece showed how the bass gave a great response and was quite powerful for such lightweight earphones. Spoken word was also good, but not enough bass on the voice, so words could seem a little harsh- with too much treble. The other tracks were above average quality.
The orange and black colour scheme is a good choice for Philips, a very sleek and professional look. The in- ear system is very comfortable and is secure in your ear (it won't fall out!).
The cord length is 1.2 metres- long enough for all purposes. They work on a 3.5 mm audio jack- this will fit almost all MP3 players.
Overall, these earphones provide a good sound quality at an even better price.
