Advantages: Comfortable when wearing, low price, sound quality

Disadvantages: sound isolation could be better

Before buying the Philips SHE9700 I only used the headphones which come with the MP3 player. This is also the first time I decided to buy In-ear headphones.

I must say that I'm impressed. I'm not a 'high-end' user, so I can't give an expert review, but I can say that the quality is pretty good. The bass is much better than I previously had, which is pretty good.

Also it isolates the sound around you. I usually listen to music on my bike. I had to turn up the volume to maximum. Now it is way less. Also the earbuds fell out constantly. With the SHE9700, if you insert them correctly, that does not happen anymore. A pretty good way to insert them is by reaching around your head with the opposite arm and pull the top of the ear up. (Right arm with left ear and vice versa.)

The carrying case which comes with the headphones is pretty handy as well. You can put the two extra sizes of rubber caps in it. Same goes for the extension cable. The wire itself is a bit short without the extension, but I use it with a remote control which comes with my MP3-player. So that is pretty handy as well.

A pretty good tip is to 'burn-in'. Download a 'Pink Noise' audio file or turn on a FM frequency with no radio channel, but only noise. Then turn the volume up, not to the maximum. Leave that on for 8 to 10 hours. That improves the audio quality.

Summary: Pretty good IMEs, but if you're looking for very high quality, don't buy these.
