      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Better off with Sony ones to be honest

These are really annoying, they are great for bass and also for strings, but not bass and strings at the same time. I listened to some trance music in these and every time a solid pounding bass beat was made, the strings went really quiet because it could not cope with both at the same time.

For comfort they are not bad, their foam sorround is pretty soft and after wearing them for an hour they still remain comfortable, but anything past about 2 hours is not so great.

I was on a train journey to Glasgow, Scotland while listening to these and after every 2 hours i was getting this wierd painfull stinging sensation on the top of my head. Not best pleased.

For portability they are great - not too big but also they will fit your ear just right, not too small that you can still hear people talking around you. They fit in my small rucksack just fine. The cable also curls up into a little ball.

For loudness its a bit better than you first think. It goes so loud that whispers can be audible from 1 ft away with them laying flat on the table, but it is the sound quality that suffers because of this, not your ears.

They will drain your battery though - I use these for my ipod and because they are so big and powerful they will use up your battery at least twice as fast, if not more depending on how loud you have them.

As it turns out they are not great value for money if you look at the Sony range because for a little bit extra you can louder, better quality, and more comfortable ones, so i would only say this are good for a budget user.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Not too bad all in all

Since we have our computer in the living room where we naturally spend a lot of time and also watch the television speakers on the computer were not an option (well at least most of the time). We have had many old headphones in use (from disc-man, MP3 player etc.) but they were all of low quality and failed pretty quickly. It was time to buy proper (cheap) headphones.

These were at a fair price and they looked good. The box said "Super comfort and fully adjustable" - comfort is always welcome and since the computer is used by all family members the fully adjustable feature was more than welcome too. They looked like they have a good sound isolation too so that would also be a bonus.

      ARE THEY ANY GOOD?

I must say that I am satisfied with them (and so is the family) for the use they were bought. They are really light and comfortable to wear, they are warm but not hot. They indeed are fully adjustable and you can make a perfect fit on your head. The cable is 2 meters long so you have some moving freedom (I owned headphones with which I had to be really close to the computer because of the cable length). Headphones cover the whole ear and is not in contact with it so you won't have any irritations (if you are sensitive to that as I am) on the ear. This way the sound quality is better and you can get that surround sound feeling.

Can't complain about sound quality, it is good. I use them mainly to watch things on Youtube or listen to music when I work on something and in both cases it provided clean sound. On the first glance though you would expect that these headphones have a great sound isolation but I must disappoint you, they don't. Actually I could say that sound isolation is close to none - so if there are other noises around when you use them you will hear them too (unless you turn up the volume to the extent you can't hear anything anyway - sensitivity is to 106 dB).

      CONCLUSION

I can't complain much about them since the price was fair - I doubt you can get cheaper headphones of equal or similar quality. If you do not mind the weak isolation these are the way to go but if you need something to isolate the noise around you these are a no-no because in this case only your environment will profit from not hearing you (which might be the purpose of the headphones anyway).

        Best in it's class

Philips SHP2000 is a good headphone also you can get it at a reasonable price. It has a better sentivity range of 100 dB which is more than that of philips shp1900. It has a moderate frequency response of 15 Hz - 22 kHz. It is good to use with computers as well as with TV. You will not get irritated even if you have used continuously. It is very light weighted.
SHP2000 maintains it's sound quality even at full volume, ie it can produce and handle mids lows and highs well. After all it is a PHILIPS product :)
