I put the Philips Earclip Headphones on my wish list for my birthday this year as I have 'odd ears' as just about any in-ear earphones hurt me and/or constantly fall out. I wanted headphones which would be comfortable, but small enough not to get in my way.
These Philips Earclip Headphones are marvellous as they are comfortable to wear (no pain involved) and they give great sound.
They are well-designed and stylish consisting of 2 white earpieces measuring 3.5cm in diameter with a sliver disc design on the outside and soft cushion pads which fit snugly against your ear on the inside. Each one has an adjustable grey earclip attached which fits around your ear. The two earpieces are connected by a thin white wire.
I am afraid that there are 2 negatives when it comes to the Philips Earclip Headphones:
1) The Earclips fall off my ears rather easily
2) The wires get very tangled and it can take a while to detangle them when you want to use them.
The price of the earphones were just under £20 when I received them as a gift in July.
I am sitting infront of my laptop with these wonderfull headphones attached to my ears & my iphone! I have been surfing the internet for ages & it just occurred to me how good these earphones are so I had to tell you all.
I am very funny with earphones, I have very small earlobes & all the normal fit in the ear ones just fall straight out of my ear within seconds. I have tried all sorts, but none stay in my ear long enough to listen to any song, so I have long given up on finding a pair of suitable earphones that dont look like 2 satelite dishes have been attached to the side of my head via a massive headband that would make Alice in Wonderland cringe in shame!
Well I was browsing in my local shop & found these Philips earphones, there are about 3 sorts in the range, well there were in this shop, but these were specifically packaged mentioning ipods, so I thought that was the one more interesting.
Now, they are like a little speaker on a disc thats on an earpiece that clips over your ear. So it doesnt fit in your ear it just sits over & behind your ear with a disc in front of it. The ear clip piece moves towards & away from the speaker so you just open it up fully & pop it over your ear & then push it back towards your ear till its comfortable for you, fitting all ear shapes & sizes.
I wondered if it would hurt your ears & I must say after about 3 hours you know you have them on, but ive just loosened them off a bit, theyre still firmly on my head, Ive been walking round the house & dancing away & I havent felt like they would come off my head once.
Now to the important bit, quality!
Im am very impressed with these discs. My hubby can hear the hum from them, but probably no more or less than most earphones, I can tell you exactly what tune he listens to from his in ear ones, so I dont think they will dissappoint there.
The sound is brilliant, the base is deep, wonderfull & clear, you hear the fading from one ear to the other & ive heard things from my tunes I hadnt noticed from a normal speaker, like little bells suddenly in my right ear! I havent had a single distortion from them at all & Ive turned my Iphone up as high as my ears will take before bleeding & not got to the full level on it. I have it about half way at the moment.
Believe me I have given it some stick, my music tastes vary so much, from Metallica to R&B to dance, 60s, 70s, 80s 90s &00s I like virtually every type of music, even though not born for lots of it, It takes the keyboard tracks, base tracks & metal all in its stride & plays them all clearly through my ears.
Now I know a lot can be to do with your ipod, mp3/4 player, but I have tried lots of speaker/stereo systems with my Iphone, I walked round Currys docking to everyone that was connected to electricity before I bought my stereo, so even with a good player you can have bad earphones & stereos, especially tinny noises & raspy base sounds, but these for me make the grade.
I recommend them whole heartidly, I just wish they werent £19.99, but then theyre worth it.
UPDATE.... I have just found these on Amazon for £11.97, now thats definately better value for money.
