Advantages: good price, available in variety of colours
Disadvantages: not as snug a fit, bad noise cancelling
If you have read my previous review on earphones you will have read that I go through a lot of them. I do use them frequently, almost every day and I probably don't treat them the best (wrap them round my ipod) so I usually go through a pair of earphones every 6-10 months. These aren't the current earphones that I'm using although they still work.
The earphones are made by radiopaq and are called "radiopaq flips". They are in ear earphones, meaning they poke right into your ear canal. I prefer this type of earphone as they don't fall out of your ear and give a better sound than other types of earphones. The radiopaq flips I have are purple with a white bit that goes in your ear, I mainly got them because of the colour and due to the fact they were "in ear" earphones, I thought the colour was really funky. They are also available in black, white, green, blue, red and pink, all the colours have white ear bits, so there should be a colour to suit everyones taste. I bought them from HMV for around £12 but are currently available on amazon for less than £10.
The earphones have a nice long cable at just over 1m and the cable splits into two to go to each earbud about 2/3rds up the length of the cable. Most earphones tend to have a slider bit so you can shorten and lengthen the "split" part of the cable, these don't which isn't a massive problem but would have been better if they had a slider.
The earbuds themselves are provided with the earphones in 3 different sizes so you can chose one that fits your ear best. The buds are extremely soft and flexible so they do not cause any discomfort in your ear. I find that the earphones do fit well into my ear but they are not as snug as other earphones I've had. Due to them being less snug than other earphones they are not very good at noise cancelling, you still get a decent sound from them but you can hear outside noise more easily than other headphones I've had. Except for the noise cancelling, the overall sound quality is really good for the price of the earphones, its not completely perfect but it is good enough for me.
Overall I would recommend these earphones, the choice of colours is great and they are a good price. I don't think I would buy them again as I have found some other earphones that I prefer, but if they were suddenly no longer available I would be likely to buy these ones again instead.
Summary: A good set of earphones available in different funky colours
