Advantages: great sound, long cord, comfortable wearing

Disadvantages: none

I had recently noticed that the sound was not coming through as clearly on my ipod earphones - granted I had used them for over two years. People had told me when I first got my ipod that I would need to upgrade my earphones, but I did not bother, as I was happy enough with the ones provided. How wrong was I, if only I had known then what I know now! These sennheiser CX 300 II are fantastic and highly recommended.

Sennheiser have been around for a while - formed in 1945 in Germany and have been making all kinds of audio products since then. The Sennheiser CX 300 II offer a powerful bass driven stereo. I really like the design of the cable as one ear cord is longer than the other, which allows you to put the cord behind your head so the cord is not dangling in the way. One is helpfully marked 'L' and the other is marked 'R'. The sound from the earphones is very clear. The cord is long so you can comfortably put your ipod or MP3 player into your jeans pocket.

The various sizes of ear adapters (S/M/L sizes) provided in the package allow for a personalised fit as well as a high passive attenuation of ambient noise. These ear inserts are made of rubber and fit snuggly inside my ear. A combination of the shape of the earphones and the rubber adapters mean that they earphones do not fall out, even when working out at the gym and running. A definte improvement on the free basic entry level apple ipod earphones. You can not hear anything but the music that you are playing, it is amazing.

There is one small point that I would make about these earphones, or canalphones as they are known as they go right into the ear canal. When using canalphones a characteristic you will come to experience is one that feels like you are somehow underneath water where you can hear your every movement. This was very weird at first, as obviously the ipod earphones are not like this at all. I have to say I was not sure whether I could get used to this, but it turns out I hardly noticeit now, or maybe I have found a slightly differnet angle to insert them. Anyway, it is a minor point, as when the music is turned up that is all you can hear!

These earphones provide very good bass and does not take away from the clarity of the music. Voices are exceptionally clear and the clarity of stereo between earphones is great.

I paid £15 in the amazon sale for these, they retailed at £28, so was happy to get a bargain.

It offers excellent sound, excellent comfort and it is affordable.

Summary: great earphones
