Advantages: Superb sound and bass, block outside noise and stay secure in your ear.

Disadvantages: They do take some getting used to, especially when walking.

The first thing most people do when they buy an i-pod or any other mp3 player, is ditch the standard headphones that come with them, because lets face it, they're rubbish.

There is a vast sea of brands and styles of headphones to choose from, so you'd be forgiven if you got a bit confused. It took me a while to decide, i nearly went for some of the big 'head candy' over ear headphones, but they were out of my price range at the time. Plus my friend was ranting on about how good these new Sennheiser CX 500's were, so i decided to give them a try, i was not disappointed.

They come with 3 sets of different sized ear pieces to ensure the perfect fit, they fit tightly into your ear canal, shutting out all outside noise - unlike all the standard headphones that come with you i-pod etc that perch annoyingly half in your ear, don't fit properly and the quality of sound is hugely impacted by how much outside noise they let in. The difference when you first use these, is quite honestly unreal, they have a huge bass-driven sound and pick up on parts of songs you've never noticed before. They do take some getting used to when you first start wearing them, they do shut out all noise what-so-ever and because they are like an ear plug, they intensify things like your footsteps as you walk and you can't really eat when you have them in....because the noise is so loud! It's pretty hard to explain, but just press your fingers into your ears while your eating crisps or something and you'll see what i mean! But that's very minor things you work around and get used to.

These are simply awesome headphones and bring a whole new level to sound quality. I wouldn't ever have any other brand, i've had mine for ages now and they are still like new....and for the price - somewhere around £15, you really can't go wrong.
I was blown away when i first used these, i'm sure you will be too.

Summary: Complete bargain, you don't get much better than these.
