Hurled with dripping venom at a stormtrooper by his superior in the comedy Top Secret!, it actually means I love you, my dear. And that's almost how I feel about these excellent quality headphones.
You'll never use these bulky units for the gym, or for going for a run. Unless you need to keep your ears warm. This unit is more a sitting in a comfy armchair listening to your favourite tunes on high blast without disturbing your neighbours (or parents!)
Extremely comfortable, yet lightweight, they're not too hard on the eyes either. The headphones completely shut out outside noises and provide incredible depth of sound. For those number crunchers out there, the low frequency extends to 21Hz and perform "to the upper limits of human hearing" of 18kHz.
They come with a 3.5mm standard headphone jack, but a 6.3mm adaptor can be bought for under £1, increasing the range of devices that can be plugged into.
If you plan to make your head explode, the HD201 has a decibel limit of 108dB. It will handle far more volume than you will. Don't consider that a challenge unless you are terminally stupid.
I bought them to use with my Fender guitar amp. Mistake. For some reason, sounds are distorted, and not in a good way. This could be because the amp's hardware is simply too powerful for use with these headphones or it could be the adaptor. Whatever the reason, these are now used for late night listening and frequently "offered" with gritted teeth to my youngest who likes the musical abortion known as dubstep.
In summary, if you want to listen to whatever you like, through a music player or through a laptop or PC while being considerate to those around you, the HD201 is a smart buy. At under £20 through Amazon, they are fantastic value also.
Summary: An excellent buy
