These were my first headphones so i didnt really know what to look for when i was buying, but all the signs seemed to point to these.

The most attractive thing about these is the price, at just under £40 they really are value for money. There aren't many other headphones from quality brands like sennheiser that are this price.

I feel at this point i should point out im not a DJ, i just wanted some good quality headphones and if you are not bothered about appearence these are great. I was pleasently surprised by the bass on them which sounds fantastic at high volumes where sound quality is also kept to high levels. The long cable is also good for using on computers/laptops when you don't want to be so close.

I found the quality of the sound differed for different types of music. If you are a fan or acoustic, indie or folk the definition is very average. I got Bombay Bicycle Club and Laura Marlings albums about the same time as i bought the headphones and these are prime examples of the type of music that doesnt come out amazingly on this type of heaphone. However some music is tantilisingly good on these, especially music with big base lines and, perhaps surprisingly, rap.

A lot is made of the shielding from ambient noise that these headphones offer. In this area I feel it is over exaggerated, it just about blocks out conversations in the same room, but only if you have it at a high volume. They material around the cups can make you a bit hot after prolonged use.
