Question:
How do I write a decent review on a pair of headphones?

Answer:
With difficulty!

Sennheiser is a relatively unknown brand, hence you probably haven't heard of them until know. It is no wonder then that I was optimistic about buying these headphones.

These were on offer on Amazon.co.uk about three weeks ago for eighteen quid. This price was dearer than the cheap and tacky headphones you can get from the supermarkets for a few quid, however it was cheaper than fifty quid ones from specialist shops on the high street. Therefore, by process of elimination, I figured that they must either be superb crap headphones or crap superb headphones. What the difference is, I have got no idea.

Anyhow, I bought these headphones, and three days later they arrived. I opened them, plugged them in and...

Not a bloody thing happened. Then I realised I had plugged them into the microphone port on my computer by mistake. When I plugged them into the correct port, I out some music on and they worked.

What was the sound quality like? It was surprisingly good, a nice crisp and clear sound. There was also some depth to the sound as well, it sounded as if it was coming out of a large, bass boost speaker, and not out of a small piece of metal.

They are able to handle volume pretty well. It is not until you put the volume right up that it starts to crackle. By that volume anyhow, it would be too loud for a normal person to be able to withstand.

The earphones are quite large in comparison to the 'in ear' ones, so they sit very comfortably around your ears, and don't leave red marks if you have been listening to them for a long time. The plastic head strap is the correct width, so it doesn't dig in to your scalp, but on the other hand is not too thic
k so that it makes you look even more stupid than you already look. (NB no offence meant, but I know the truth might hurt).

What else is there to say? The wire length is 1.2m, which is the standard length on headphones and is ample. You can use them with computers, walkmans, personal CD players, TVs and other such devices.

To conclude, I have two things to say.

1. These headphones are both comfortable, stylish and have great sound quality, so are worth buying.

2. I deserve a pat on the back and loads of community points for being able to write such a good review on a hard product to write about (sorry, I'll try and keep my ego under control from now on!)

Relatively unknown brand !!! Where have you been for the last 30 years ???
Eighteen quid !! Lucky you !! I bought a pair of the HD477's only yesterday, here in Adelaide South Australia for A$125.00 and that was the best price I could find locally. That translates to 48.6888 UK pounds (sorry, I don't have a pounds sign on my keyboard) so at 18 quid you did well. I agree with you about the sound, it's fantastic. I bought mine to replace a pair of Sennheiser HD400 which were about 20 years old and I'd rolled my chair across the cord so many times they finally gave up the ghost. They served me well. Let's hope I get similar service from the new ones.
