Nice for a bit of novelty, and if you are desperate not to miss your favourite show

If you are not used to stethoset headphones such as this it is true the sensation is odd to begin with. Personally I found that the lower 'loop' is awkward to begin you as you tend to forget it is there. Indeed, the plastic is so lightweight it will rarely alert you to its presence. Although it is lightweight however, the quality is high and it is resilient enough to sustain shock and not scratch easily. The outer shell of the ear buds is a muted purple/pink, as is a portion of the 'loop.' The rest, including the transmitter is black in appearance.

The set is very versatile, being as the infrared transmitter and wireless receiver can be connected up to your TV, and one transmitter is all you need to power a number of RI 150 receivers. This means that when the transmitter is functioning you are able to wander about the house wirelessly and enjoy the sound of your chosen programmes without being in the same room as the television. Transmitting distance is decent, extending to up to sixty metres, according to the user manual. I found this to be slightly optimistic however, and would put a good quality sound distance at a maximum of 50 metres. The novelty value of the Sennheiser IS 150 goes some way towards compensating for this however, and most people will find they do not need to go far in any case.

The transmitter is small enough to be discreet, which is advantageous as it is not the most attractive design. It is hard wearing enough not to upset the balance if it takes a fall, but I would recommend storing it at a level at which it will not tumble too far if it does happen to dislodge, as the plastic from which it is comprised is perhaps not overly high quality.

The ear phones are equipped with an On/Off switch and volume control. If you need to make any alterations to bass or treble settings you will have to do this through your television set. It does however, provide a very rich, smooth bass sound with good balance. In all this is a nice set that will provide a talking point if nothing else. I personally do not use them much any more as I find the buds to be somewhat uncomfortable if they are used for more than about twenty minutes. If you're desperate not to miss a part of your favourite show however, you may appreciate this kit.
