Advantages: extremely light weight and compact, aesthetically beautiful, well made, excellent sound quality.
Disadvantages: keep the headphones in the casing is abit fiddly.
Finally a pair of headphones that not only looks stylish to carry anywhere but compact enough to be packed in your handbag without having to worry about snapping it in two.
Sound Quality:
Reasonably priced, the Sennheiser PX 200 does pretty well for outdoor and indoor use. Patented duofoilTM diaphragms provides a sound pressure level of around 115 decibels. thats enough to drown out sounds if you're on the tube (which is around 100 dB). The sounds are refined and smooth in the highs with good body in the bass.
Ergonomics:
In addition to the ear pads which are covered in leather, there are two pads under the band which rest on your head, providing extra comfort. No discomfort was felt after a whole day's use, unlike some other headphones which can cup your ears too tightly. Extremely lightweight, great for bringin around.
Aesthetics and quality:
Extremely well built with stainless steel headband and hinges. the leather covers provide a touch of luxury, unlike cheap foam pads on other models. Appearance wise, this white version definately makes a great companion to an Ipod! (for those who are looking for something more discreet there's a black version)
Casing:
Whilst the casing provides good protection, keeping the headphones in it can be abit fiddly when first using it. There are markings on the ends indicating which side to fold first but the overall motion still takes a while to get used to. Fitting it in the box requires some pushing and adjusting to get in, not a 2 second job (i've had mine for about a month now and it still takes a good minute to keep it).. not quite the smooth motion you'd expect.
Overall:
Despite that, its a great chic, compact pair of headphones that sounds great on both hifi systems and portable players. With that Apple-ish design and colour.. one will have no qualms wearing it plugged into iphones on the tube or bus. beautiful and totally worth the money!
Summary: Sennheiser PX 200 is slightly more expensive than the PX100 but definately value for money!
