Great Headphones For Music Lovers.
Member Name: MrMuzzy
Advantages: Power driver produces fantastic bass.
Disadvantages: Slightly inconvenient to travel with.
The headphones which originally accompanied my mp3 player, an iPod in this case, must have survived all of around six hours before shedding their flimsy plastic casings and dismantling themselves in my pocket. It can't be said that I had expected much of these cheaply made accessories but I had expected slightly more than a shelf life of less than a day. Although I was already the owner of a set of high-spec headphones that I mostly used for gaming or sound engineering I felt a more stylish pair were needed to partner my sparkly new iPod. A friend of mine who owned a set of Skullcandy headphones, which type I can't remember, had highly recommended them the week previously and I borrowed them to assess the sound quality. Although I had been sceptical at first, believing them to be more of a fashion accessory than a quality piece of audio tech, I was pleasantly surprised. I was especially impressed with the powerful bass that they were able to produce and this was the attribute that convinced me to invest. The HESH series were being sold in HMV for just under £50 and although I'm sure I could have found them cheaper elsewhere, I hate hunting around. Since owning them there have been no problems with reliability and I have found the volume adjuster on the wire very handy. They can become slightly uncomfortable after prolonged use but not unbearably so, and despite not being quite as portable as other sets of headphones they more than make up for it with their aesthetics and sound. These headphones have a good balance between these two aspects and have a reasonable price tag. As my friend recommended them to me I now recommend them to you. With value for money even at £50 they look good, they sound good and they are well deserving of 4 stars.
Summary: 4/5 stars. A quality set of headphones.
