I took up running at the start of the year, mainly to keep fit and to get a while away from the children into the fresh air. I have no issues with my apple earphones for my ipod but my son went ahead and bought me skullcandy icon headphones saying that they will be more comfortable for running. I had never head of skullcandy before and have discovered this brand is popular amongst the teenager.
My son paid £19.99 for the skullcandy icon headphones from Hmv. You can get all different colours and styles of skullcandy headphones.
Mine are white with baby pink detail, similar to the dooyoo picture.
Skullcandy icon headphones come in a clear plastic wrapper, the headset is in one piece and can be seen. You get the instruction booklet and changeable clip on face plates for the sides of the headphones. I had to cut my way through all the packaging to get the headphones out.
Skullcandy headphones are made from some type of rubber, they are indestructible and you can twist them and pull at them but they go back to their shape. These have a rubber grip material around the inside of the headband so they grip the head and don't slip off. It is a double headband and has skullcandy written up the side of the band in pink look very young and hip.
The ear speakers have pink skulls on them also cute. The speakers on the ear parts are covered with pink foam and are fairly comfortable to wear, I am liking the fact these sit over the ears and its a nice brake from the apple earphones that sit in the ear and after a while begin to hurt. You can change the skull face plates these clip on and off with ease although i don't see why you would want to maybe suit the style of teenagers.
The sound is amazing, very clear, loud beats and no interference at all. The cable length is good around 40 inches long. The jack socket fits ipods and most mp3 players. I like these and they are better for when i'm out running. I also find the sound to be excellent coming through the headphones compared to the apple there is a real difference seems clearer and louder.
I think these could also be good for children with mp3 players, nintendo ds and even for use with laptops.
I recommend the skullcandy headphones.
I am not a fan of in-ear headphones. I find that after a few minutes of listening pleasure my ears start to throb and ache. This could very well be due to the fact my ears are an awkward shape or just smaller than average but I do really struggle. Last year my dad bought me a pair of in-ear headphones and I couldn't get on with them.
With desperation I started looking for a pair of over the ear headphones. I looked around shops and even tried on a few pairs to get the correct feel. I was very keen on the Skull Candy brand they were stylish, comfortable and sounded good.
I managed to buy these from a local music retailer however on looking around afterwards I realised I'd paid a little more than I'd like. I paid £25.99 however they range between £10 and £19.99 on the internet. They are lightweight and due to the padding are very comfortable.
I am able to have my I Pod on very loud without the husband complaining as they are muffled with padding. Due to this also he can have whatever he likes on TV, be talking to me or asking me something and I wouldn't know. The noise cancelling feature is amazing. However I sometimes wonder when I see kids crossing the road with these headphones on how they can possibly hear traffic around them...probably not the safest headphones for outdoor use. They do fold up well for travelling but are quite flimsy, I doubt they'd last long in my handbag!
They are stylish and I have no problem wearing these in public unlike some of the cheaper brands. They are designed well for the purpose, sound great and are very bassy! Overall a great buy although do shop around. Ebay, Amazon and smaller online retaillers will offer these at the best price.
Skull candy head phones, are the best for comfort. They are the most comfortable head phones you can buy, they just fold over your head, and with massive pads on the speaker they provide the optimum comfort. Skull candy head phones, are also really loud, and provide you with not only a great general sound, but a fantastic bass sound. They are suitable for both males and females however in this case, i would strongly recomend them for a girl. The colour scheme is great the pink and the white compliment each other really well. They are easy to use and set up, (you just plug them in). i would absoloutely recommend the skull candy head phones, to anyone, a stranger, friend or family member, they are totally worth the money and are the best head phones that money can buy! Even though they seem big, size wise they are perfect, you can never lose them plus there not to bulky!
My son has been saving his paper round money for some new headphones, and has been after a pair of these having tried his friend's icon headphones.
After some searching on the internet, we managed to find some at just £12.99 on amazon, brand new, which is significantly less than some of the mainstream dealers, and certainly a price that appealed to my 13 year old.
These lightweight headphones have big earpads, which are incredibly comfortable - the downside is that people sitting nearby can hear what you are listening to, whereas with inner ear phones, the sound is a lot more "private"! They come in white, with a choice of color on the ear section - my son has orange, which looks much better than I expected it to!
They have a double headband which is very comfortable, and looks pretty stylish too. It is adjustable so can be made to fit all head sizes! So far we have had no problems with the adjustable bit slipping, so no annoyances there! There is a choice of audio plug so you can use these headphones with your ipod or other mp3 player, or on bigger kit without any problem at all.
The sound quality is excellent, it has to be said, especially for something in this price range.
Other headphone sets in the skullcandy range are designed to fold up for easy carrying - this one doesn't, but so far this has not caused any problem in transporting them. But of course it could lead to damage if my 13 year old boy is as careful as 13 year old boys have a tendancy to be!!!
All in all, these headphones seem to provide excellent quality sound at a really good price. My son is certainly happy with his, and that is a pretty good indication as far as I am concerned!
