Advantages: They look great and block out outside noisel. Clear sounding music
Disadvantages: None for me
I usually just use whatever headphones that comes with whatever I'm using for music be it my phone or my ipod. However I don't have much luck with headphones and they always seem to break quite quickly on me. When I need some new ones I usually just pop into HMV or WhSmith and buy the cheapest ones on sale. This is probably a false economy as these cheaper headphones really don't have much life in them before they start to develop problems. The most common problem with headphones that I buy is that one of the ear buds will just go silent and I have no idea why.
I decided to purchase myself a decent pair of headphones when I had a spare Amazon voucher and thought that I would treat myself. I have always liked the look of the Skullcandy over the ear headphones and their bright funky colours but I decided they were too large and not as practical as some smaller ear buds would be so I started looking at some Skullcandy ear bud headphones.
There was quite a large selection to choose from but I finally decided on a pair of INK'D ones as they seemed to have the best reviews and there was a good colour selection to choose from. I finally settles on a pair in gold and black as I really liked the look of them. They cost me £16.50 which was a little more expensive than the others in the INK'D range by a couple of pounds but I was willing to pay the extra as to me these were the ones that stood out the most.
When they arrived and I saw them in the flesh I was really happy with the colour combination. The gold is shiny and metallic and although it is only on the actual bud part it does give them a little bit more of a bang than plain black or white ones.
They are also decorated with small skulls but don't worry that they are going to make you look EMO as unlike the large over the ears ones the in-ear buds are much more subtle and understated.
I found that they were the perfect size to fit in my ears but they do come with a couple of spare buds which are a slightly different size in case the ones they come with don't fit for you. They are extremely comfortable in my ear canal and when in they sit securely and don't fall out when I am moving or if they get a slight tug. The buds are soft and they don't start to hurt when they have been in for a while like some other bud type headphones that I have used.
I am not an expert when it comes to sound quality but to me they give a great sound when in my ear. They are excellent at blocking out all outside noise and when I have them in I can't hear any outside noise. The music comes through really clear and there is no crackling or static noises. The bass is good and overall they are definitely one of the best headphones that I have used in my phone and instead of just being something to listen to my music privately they actually improve the experience.
I also really like the length of the cable. With some headphones the cable can be too small and I have to be careful where I put my phone or otherwise it will pull the buds out of my ear. With these ones the cable is 1.3m and with me being over 6 foot it means that I can put my phone in my back pocket and still have some slack.
The connector of the headphones is 3.5mm which is the usual size of most audio outputs on the majority of electrical items so you can use these headphones with your mp3 player and also with Gameboys, laptops etc.
I'm glad I bought these headphones. They look great and the sound is fantastic. I've only had them a couple of months and so far they have been problem free so I am hopeful that they are going to last a lot longer than the cheaper ones I am normally used to.
If you are looking for a good pair of fashionable earphones that will give you good sound too then I can highly recommend these. If they are a little too expensive for you then go for a different colour combination which you can get starting from about £10.
Summary: A great looking and sounding pair of headphones
